Armory Park Inn

To celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary, we decided to staycation at the Armory Park Inn because it was within walking distance of many Tucson attractions such as the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum, the Tucson Museum of Art, a docent-led tour of El Presidio (celebrating its 250th anniversary), the Cathedral, and concerts at the historic Fox Theater (a beautifully restored Art Deco venue). The lodging was perfect in every way. Each of the rooms was named after a person important to Tucson’s history, and the decor reflected each theme. We availed ourselves of the snack cabinet in the common area and enjoyed the relaxing patio. We thought the breakfasts were of the kind we would like to consume every day of our lives: homemade, fresh, and inspired. To be sure, our sojourn at this elegant inn is one we will remember for the rest of our lives. Thanks to all the cordial staff members for a luxurious stay.

We were truly impressed by the attention to detail and excellent customer service we received during our week long stay. The rooms and common areas were impeccably clean and tastefully decorated. Our bed was very comfortable and the room was supplied with quality lotion, shampoo and conditioner. Sitting areas on both levels and a large outdoor area were comfortable and inviting, offering a variety of reading materials and room to relax. We looked forward each morning to a delicious multi-course breakfast served with cloth napkins and lovely glass and dinnerware. Chefs Sheila and Amy graciously prepared something new and tasty each day. Armory Hour each day at 4:30 was a pleasant surprise as an appetizer was served with a glass of wine or beer or a soft drink. What a nice way to begin the evening. Amy, the owner asked us multiple times each day if there was anything we needed. If you are looking for a B&B that will cater to your comfort and make you feel like family, the Armory Park Inn is the place for you. We have already booked another week for next year.

My husband and I spent this past weekend in Tucson and could not have been more pleased with our choice of lodging. The Armory Park Inn is a lovely bed & breakfast in an historic area of the city, walkable to restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. The service and attention to detail is impeccable, I can't think of one thing they did not think of to make the stay super comfortable and welcoming. From the incredible breakfast to a glass of wine and special appetizer at Armory Hour, to the lovely patio with a fire pit for getting cozy on a chilly evening. Not to mention a decked out gym and bikes to borrow for rides around town. Great experience and would highly recommend.

The room was beautiful, the breakfasts fit for kings and queens! The garden is lovely and hosts exceptional! Great suggestions of things to do and places for dinner. As an extra treat, a glass of wine and a few nibbles at the end of the day. Plan a visit soon!

Even as a very nitpicky traveler who can find fault with almost anything, I am happy to write that every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations. I'll start with responsiveness. When I called to make a reservation, I was routed to voicemail. But the owner, Amy, immediately picked up and handled my booking efficiently and pleasantly. She provided her personal cell as I was arriving after hours and would need to access the property and room via a keypad. I had doubts about this, but it worked perfectly. A brief letter in my room oriented me to the Inn. Attention to detail. Amy also left a small carafe (glass) of wine in my fridge, as I was arriving after the nightly happy hour. There were also two very good chocolates in the room. My room included items to anticipate almost any need: an electric kettle, tea, coffee, cream, honey, sugar, etc., a wine opener, a carafe of water (which also - helpfully - had a tag informing that it is sanitized between guests) a vanity kit, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, mini sewing kit, yoga mat, clothes steamer and mini-iron, hair dryer, and a multitude of outlets. There is also a water filter in the dining area to refill bottles. Fitness center: The same attention to detail carried though in the fitness center. It is equipped with a peloton bike (and a variety of peloton shoes/lysol spray), a peloton treadmill, a large TV, weights, and several pilates mats along with clean yoga towels to cover them, plenty of clorox wipes, packaged ear buds, and a tablet stand. Food. I've never liked scones, but the house made almond scones, served with fruit, yogurt and a sprinkle of granola, were heavenly. I'm now a scone fan, having realized I've never had a proper one before. This course was followed by a take on chile rellenos (a bit like a Mexican crustless quiche prepared in a ramekin) with a small green salad and fresh citrus fruit. This was also excellent. Environment. The Inn is in a beautiful, historic but well renovated, building just south of downtown Tucson and in walking distance to the U of A. The area was very quiet and peaceful. Comfort. My room had a quality mattress, pillows and linens, all of which were very comfortable. The room was controlled with a split unit that kept the temperature consistent and comfortable without any noise. Decor/character. As shown in the photos, the Inn is beautifully decorated in keeping with the historic building and area of town. My room had soaring ceilings constructed of beams and ocotillo - a look I really love - with a bit of the building's old knob and tube wiring still attached, which added to the charm. Cleanliness. The Inn was extremely clean. Most hotels, even those that initially seem clean, have filthy baseboards, light switches, corners, grout, caulking, lampshades and light fixtures, along with hair laying around bathrooms and nasty walls. We had a wonderful stay at The Armory Inn. Everything was amazing, from the initial greeting and welcome by Amy to our checkout. Breakfasts were delicious and generous, happy hour was fun, room was extremely comfortable and the Inn is beautiful. We would come again and highly recommend The Armory Inn.
