Berry's Motel

As advertised, "The beds were great, and rooms clean", Yes this is a budget Motel, but I think it is one of the better ones for sure. Rooms are being remodeled and when done, I believe will be a must stop for anyone. Great location for food, shopping and gas. Thanks for a great two night stay, see you next time I'm in the area. The beds and pillows were wildly comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the fridge. Bed, linens, and towels were all nice and clean and there's certainly evidence that the owner is putting work into renovating the rooms. We could see that the walls and sink/vanity area of the bathroom had been updated and they looked very nice. After we'd spent some time in the room, we noticed a few details where the room needed a bit of attention (cobwebs in a dark corner and a wall that could use a wipe down for example). The motel has very clearly communicated policies about smoking near the building and quiet hours, unfortunately, not everyone follows these things and someone was smoking near our room well after office hours. This is more a commentary really on the other guest though since the policy is clear. The office was closed when we got there but the person who checked us in was just around the corner of the building and came and checked us in. We then proceeded to lock ourselves out of our room (combo of being tired at the end of vacation and miscommunication) and the staff were very kind about coming and helping us get back in.

We friend and I booked a room here and thought this was just going to be a cheap dive motel but were VERY pleasantly surprised to find it newly renovated and very welcoming. Staff were excellent and very accommodating. The beds and pillows were absolutely amazing! (I honestly wanted to pack thos pillows in my suitcase and take them home with me 😀😀). Very centrally located airy anything you need within walking distance. Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay again!

We stayed at Berry's Motel for a couple of months while we toured Nova Scotia. Roger was very friendly and accommodating Room was very clean. Friendly staff. Our dogs were welcomed . Place to park our 21 ft RV. Large chain food store across the street. Coffee shops . Close the the Hwys . Downtown hop skip and a jump. Hospital close by. Very convenient location. Especially if you are touring Nova Scotia. I would give it an Excellent rating. Thanks Roger for your hospitality.

We stayed a night here on our way to Digby for our union AGM. My coworker booked it, and of course I travelled online to see the reviews. Before even seeing the place, I was impressed by the passion the owner showed in their replies to some questionable reviews. it was obvious they cared about their guests experiences and from check-in to check-out we were very happy. It wasn’t flashy, but it had everything you need. A full fridge, table and two chairs, microwave, tv and wifi. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. You can tell a lot of work has been done to the rooms, especially the bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable. The sheets and towels were clean. There was a bbq on-site if you needed one and they’re right by a gas station and Starbucks. What stood out to me was it’s proximity to the highway and on a very busy road but it was SO quiet. I would recommend this place to anyone travelling in NS looking to get a good, clean nights sleep and up and out sightseeing the next day or stop along the way, like us. The resort we stayed at in Digby was supposed to be “high end”, but Berry’s provided us with so much more for so much less. I would absolutely stay here again and am sure to recommend it.

Decided to stop for the evening in Truro, tried a couple of chain hotels prices through the roof. Called Berry's they had a room for a decent price. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable and lots of hot water in the nicely renovated washroom. I had just stayed in a motel in NB that did not offer in room coffee, this seems to be a thing these days. When I inquired at the front desk at Berry's the host very quickly got me a couple more coffee pods for the in room Keurig machine. Would stay again and highly recommend to anyone needing a good nights rest while in the Truro area.

Rude employees!!! Called for three hours looking for a reservation. No reply. Always “we are away from the phone “. Finally got through and gruff man said no, we’re full. When I mentioned how long I was calling he slammed the phone down. Rude people get you no where. It’s a reflection of your business and attitude.

After reading on trip advisor that Berry's offered monthly rates I decided to give them a call. After several attempts over about an hour period a gentlemen finally answered with a muffled "Hello", wasn't sure I had even gotten through to the motel. Upon questing about the month rate I was told they don't have one. I know they use to because I know people that stayed there in the past. I told the person on the phone that it was in the advertising that they do offer and I quote "A special monthly room rate". A curt response was given and then I was hung up on. Very POOR customer service.

Not top of the line but for people that are budget minded it is a great place to stay. Stayed there Sept. 13 _ 17th. Most all are kitchenettes. A major market across the street for groceries. Instead of eating out ( costing a fortune ) save a few bucks and eat in your own room. Many fast food places within a 2- 4 min. walk
