Tranquility Bay Beach Retreat

This place is perfect for big groups! The service was excellent the staff was friendly and attentive to our every need. The views were stunning, and the facilities were top-notch. We had plenty of space to spread out in the clean rooms and the large outdoor area. Its proximity to town was also a big plus. Overall, this is a fantastic option for business retreats, mission trips, or any large group gathering.

We parficularly feel deeply inspired by Linda and Larry, not just as our hosts but also as two beautiful humans with a golden heart. They're are graceful and kind. They made us feel like home at Tranquility Bay Beach Retreat. The peaceful atmosphere, the neatness in the "cabañas", the lovely animals around, and the direct contact with nature in the sorroundings undoubtedly made our vacations unique. The food they serve is truly organic and fresh, but more inportantly, being trated like family and respect by the whole staff is something we mostly admire. Our family (my husband and I and 4 of our daughters) felt so at home from the very first moment we arrived at Tranquility Bay. By the end of our stay, we were on a first-name basis not only with Linda and Larry the owners, but with everyone on the staff. It felt like we were staying with family. It truly is a slice of paradise - the property is gorgeous, the private beach is sublime, and the cabanas have that Caribbean island getaway feel. Our girls loved using the sea kayaks every day, and Linda and Larry arranged for a private boat charter (very inexpensive!) to take us snorkeling to a reef and sunken boat. What a great experience! Oh - and do not miss the homemade mango coladas! And the mango bread, mango crisp, and mango juice are all amazing - and all from the mango trees on the property. All of the meals we had were so delicious! We will 100% be back!!

We had a very pleasant stay over the New Year while we were in the area. Our group of 5 was given excellent treatment and accommodations while visiting. It happened to be a particularly rainy week, so we greatly appreciated Larry and Linda’s assistance with getting our clothes washed and dried. A major highlight for our family were then plethora of animals around the resort which provided so much enjoyment. Watching the monkeys and taking a horseback ride were real highlights of our stay. We felt extremely grateful to see the sun come out so we could experience the beautiful beach and coastline right outside the window of our cabana. Our meals each day were absolutely delicious. Everyone was welcoming, warm and delightful. We would highly recommend this resort if staying in the area!

So very disappointing compared to our first visit 3 years ago. Staff were inefficient, slow, and easily confused. Service in the restaurant was abysmal. A lot of food items were unavailable, suggesting someone needed to go grocery shopping. Massive power failure with no wifi and intermittent AC for 1-2 days. The roads to get to this "5 star resort" are incredibly bad and treacherous. My expectations for a 5-star resort are just that. No hotel in the country has that designation. Larry and Linda having traveled abroad should know the truth in advertising. This resort is good to Honduran standards. 3 years ago, I'd say it was among the best. However, is it possible that when Larry and Linda are not around that the local staff slack off? Highly likely. What a wonderful location and establishment. It is a shame that it has not held up over time. (Note - In an effort to be fully transparent and honest, we booked our cabins with Larry directly. Not through his website. We also paid him a 50% deposit via PayPal. Unfortunately, the day before we were to arrive, our elderly mother passed away unexpectedly. Larry generously allowed us to rebook at a different time with no penalties. However, between the grieving widower being ill, no medical services available locally, and the abysmal service documented above we decided to leave 1 day early. Should we expect a refund of a portion of what we paid? Normally, I would say no. However, the manager at the time, Carlos, never indicated to us that we should expect anything but a partial refund of charges with the circumstances of our stay. While this was not done, and we forfeited a considerable sum of money, this does not invalidate the circumstances documented in this review. Future clients should be aware that this establishment is not necessarily going to be able to deliver on their assertions and promises.

Es un pedazo de paraiso en Honduras. Un sitio muy tranquilo, con cabañas comodas y una playa de aguas tranquilas y claras. Especial para familias con niños. El mejor servicio de Honduras. Linda y Larry son muy queridos y amables. Todo el staff brinda un gran servicio en general. La comida es deliciosa y tienen un menú amplio y flexible.
