Lane Head Farm Country Guest House

WOW! Everything about this trip was amazing, from the location, the accommodation, the host… you name it, it was amazing! We arrived in off the A66 and as you drive down you see this beautiful building at the end of a long winding private road. As you pull in to the entrance you are greeted with this magnificent farm house with the most breath taking layout and back drop of Blencathra behind it. Upon arrival we were greeted by Suruchi with the warmest of welcomes. Nothing was too much and she was tentative to any of our needs. She gave us a tour of the building, gave us her number so if there was any issues we could contact at any time and offered us great advice on places to visit and try whilst we were here. We went up to the room and how the rooms were done were spectacular. There is a perfect balance of maintaining the original structure and layout to give you that proper farm house feel without it feeling dated. The shower gel and shampoo were fully topped up, the showers were piping hot and the rooms were warm. The 4 poster bed is a fantastic touch and even better with an electric mattress topper to keep you nice and toasty in bed! Finally, on our last day, we woke up to find we had been snowed in with a foot of snow! If anyone has ever seen ‘The Holiday’, the farm house resembled this perfectly in the snow which gave it such a surreal quaint idyllic touch. Beyond the beauty though, we honestly feared the worst as our car is rear wheel drive and is terrible in a sprinkle of snow. Suruchi and her son proceeded to spend nearly 3 hours helping us shovel snow to get out. Honestly we cannot thank them enough for what they did for us. They didn’t have to do this for us and it was done with such genuine care. We would wholeheartedly recommend Lane Head Farm to anyone and everyone! Close proximity to lovely pubs, short drive to Keswick, beautiful location and an amazing host. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay!

A lovely stay with Family and Friends Suruchi could not have been more helpful. We arrived late on a Sunday night when all supermarkets were closed we arrived to a beautiful fresh veg basket and she brought over fresh bread, bagels and butter which was so helpful . She also left us extra logs half way through our trip and was extremely accommodating with helping us charge two electric vehicles. All questions were answered quickly and we all had a lovely stay.

One of the friendliest hosts we have ever met. Suruchi makes you feel at home. The property is well-maintained, clean and calm. Rooms are spacious, contemporary and cosy. Breakfast was delicious. The property has a large open area/garden at the back and it would be nice for a family or a group to spend an evening with a view. We received a lot of tips and info about the area, free parking spots around Keswick, attractions and places to dine from Suruchi which came in handy. The property is easy to locate and access compared to many other locations in the Lake District and comes with free parking. It is highly recommended.

We recently stayed here for a couples week away. Suruchi was a fantastic host and could not do more to accommodate us and our dog. The location was perfect for what we wanted. Ullswater and Keswick. Her omelettes are superb. My only criticism was that the shower in our room had no pressure so we did not use it but she did offer us another room if we wanted and is addressing this issue. The water however was always hot so we could have a bath instead in our room . She has recently had a lovely kitchen fitted downstairs so we were able to heat up food one night when we got back late. Lovely little place . Definitely worth a visit . Thanks 😊

This is by far one of best hotel B&B we have stayed in. Suruchi the host could not have done anything more for us. The room, lounge and garden were fantastic. Breakfast was plentiful and lots of choice. Located near Keswick you are right in the heart of fells and lakes. I can't recommend this B&B enough.

Suruchi was a lovely welcoming host, she made both my partner and I feel very welcome and comfortable. No ask was too much she brought a heater up to our room so we could dry our clothes out, and the kitchen facilities were great so we could cook our own dinner. She let us book in a few days early when our camping trip was derailed due to the weather and let us leave our stuff in the room whilst we went off camping for one night. The breakfast was great, plenty of choice for cold food and the hot food was good. Would highly recommend and stay again.
