Hostal Casa El Ceramista

We spent 2 night at Alexey’s house in february and it was a lovely experience with delicious breakfast served on the terrace. The room was clean, equipped with all necessities. Alexey arranged a horseback riding tour for us, and was helpful with booking Taxi colectivos and exchanging money as well, and gave us some tips for Trinidad excursions. There is also a brochure in the room with suggestions for excursions and restaurants, which was very much appreciated. Alexeys speaks excellent english which was a great help for us because of our lack of spanish knowledge. We are happy that we chose Casa el Ceramista for our stay in Trinidad and we hope that we will be back in future, it’s a lovely family!

Alexey’s place is unique and beautiful! The room is very spacious and comfortable and well stocked. It was perfect with our family (2 kids). Alexey and is family are so welcoming, accommodating and amazing chefs. We loved our meals we had here. The rooftop garden patio is beautiful where we enjoyed breakfast. His pottery is beautiful and is integrated throughout their home. They are very helpful for anything we need to schedule or book. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home. I highly recommend anyone to stay here!

By far the best place we stayed at during our 2 week trip. The place is beautiful, clean and very unique. Alexei is a ceramista and has decorated the place with a lot of charm. The rooms are spacious and Yami, Alexei and the whole family (including the dog, Scooby) are wonderful people (and dog) and great hosts. They had great recommendations, and went out of their way to help us with an issue we had during our stay even if they didn’t have to. Would 100% recommend going there, it will make your trip that much better!

I cannot recommend Casa El Ceramista enough. My friends and I stayed for four nights and fell in love with the Casa and the family who own the home. Our room was spacious with all the amenities we could need and there is even a beautiful terrace to sit out on for breakfast or some down time. I would also like to point out that the host is a ceramist himself and the terrace was filled with all the beautiful pots and tiles he lovingly crafted. The family who own the Casa were so welcoming to my friends and I, offering many suggestions for our visit, organising day trips, cooking us delicious breakfast every morning and letting us in at late hours when we got locked out (sorry Alexey!!) They did everything to make us comfortable and ensure we had the most wonderful time in Trinidad. This is easily one of the best hostels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in, so a huge thank you to Alexey and his beautiful family.

Alexey & his family were very welcoming, the room was large & nice terrace for large breakfast at €5. He also speaks really good english, we had a few conversations about the weather! Wifi works well when there is power, and don't forget a torch for those power cuts - we had 3 in the first day! 10 minute walk into the centre of Trinidad with all the sights and plenty of restaurants and bars.

Last March, we stayed at Casa El Ceramista for three nights to enjoy the beautiful city of Trinidad and its nice atmosphere. Staying with host Alexey and his family was absolutely fantastic. At the warm welcome we were offered a delicious drink. The room was spacious and very clean. The delicious breakfast is served on the lovely roof terrace. The room was wonderfully quiet and the beds were comfortable. Alexey is a great host. He is very helpful with suggestions about Trinidad and the surrounding area and is happy to assist you with taxis and restaurants. We enjoyed talking with him about Cuba and its current challenges. Everyone of his family is equally nice and hospitable. If you visit Trinidad which you certainly should, staying at Casa El Ceramista is an excellent option we can strongly recommend. Great hosts, great breakfast. Alexey was very helpful in recommending places to visit and restaurants to go to. He provided a little map highlighting places he recommended. Hopefully we will visit Trinidad again and definitely will stay at Alexey‘s.

Alexey and his family welcomed me and my daughter warmheartedly, again, six years after my first stay. Apart from the very pleasant rooms, breakfast and chats with other travelers, we were supported by Alexey´s family for a flat tire (as we hired a car this time) and removed numberplates (as you can't park a hired car in the street overnight). Within a few hours, we had an airtight wheel again and the plates back on. Even when times are hard for Cuba and Cubans, the Ceramista Hostel offers all it can and more!

Incredible casa and family. It was our best place to stay during our journey, Alexey and his family were amazing with us and we loved every minute we spent with them. The rooms are excellent and the location can't be better. We ate the best lobster and ice cream in the country. Thank you so much for everything!
