Golden Mar Menuda

We’ve just returned as a family from the Mar Menuda and I have to say what a fantastic little hotel, we booked on a half board basis for 10 nights. Breakfast was plentiful and had a good selection of food my only regret was we only had beans one day such a shame they aren’t available daily. Bacon and omelettes were cooked to order and the scrambled eggs were lovely and fresh. The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, Leidy cooking the hot food and Vicky serving were always smiling and attentive to your needs. The half board option didn’t work out for us so we spoke with Jessica on reception who is such a credit to the hotel, she was amazing organising us an alternative. Jessica speaks wonderful English and is so knowledgeable that anything we needed she was able to help with. I honestly can’t say thank you enough to her. Our room was spotless and cleaned daily. Air conditioning was excellent and kept the room temperature lovely and cool. The safe is free to use as are pool towels. Bar prices are reasonable and the Heineken is a great pint. Access to the beach is through a small gate and across the path, literally 5 metres away. The pool is small but lovely and clean with plenty sun beds and none of the usual fighting for beds first thing in the morning. If I would improve anything maybe a little more security around the pool area to stop any non hotel guests entering the area. Overall I would thoroughly recommend the hotel. The staff make the hotel as good as it is and that’s a credit to all of the team. We would definitely stay here again when in Tossa. Tops tips; Take something to wear on your feet in the sea, getting in and out with the pebbles and waves isn’t easy. Room 107 has a great sea view without paying extra to be on the front of the hotel. Ask Jessica if you need any help!!

So, this hotel is maintained immaculately. The staff are lovely. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the town centre and on a small beach (with lifeguards). Breakfast is excellent, with a chef preparing fresh eggs and bacon or omelette. The only issue I would have is with the half board evening meal. It is a bit hit and miss. It is something of a lottery cimparing the menu with what actually turns up. For example, cod with black rice that had no rice and a chocolate pudding which eas turkish delight. Having said this, the additional cost of half board is modest. We just ate out a few nights. A special mention to the delightful lady cleaning rooms in floor 2. She eas lovely. Overall a great place.
