I will start with the fact the hotel, just one year old, is well designed and Bondia Hotels has clearly made a significant investment in Tossa de Mar. We stayed only one night, but will never return to this property. After checking in we settled into our room, while washing our hands the handle to one of the two sinks literally fell into the basin. It would have been impossible for that sink to be cleaned by housekeeping and not know the bolt in the handle had been severed. My partner then took a shower and noticed that the bath matt had brown stains on it... from human fecal matter that was all over the bathroom floor. After freaking out, we informed the front desk staff who stated it would be taken care of but that we cannot move rooms because they are fully committed and that we should speak to the manager in the morning. We spent 2 hours at the pool and returned to the room only to find the exact same pile of crap covered towels on the floor... this is simply inexcusable for a room costing over 500€ a night. I showered for dinner wearing flip flops and we never were barefoot in the room again. We met with the front desk who were adamat the room had been cleaned... she went to look for herself and upon our return from dinner the pile of towels was gone. At checkout, we were told there was no note on our reservation, no accomodation could be made, but we could email the manager who was not there. In the 24 hours we were there... no manager was on site... Bondia Hotels is a complete disappointment.

While the design of the hotel is undeniably stylish and visually appealing, everything else falls far short of what one would expect from a five-star establishment. Unfortunately, the service and operational standards are nowhere near luxury level – or even a solid four-star experience. Here are just a few of the issues encountered: The restaurant operates only during breakfast and dinner hours — no 24-hour food and beverage service, which is standard in luxury hotels. Guests are issued a card to receive sun deck towels; if lost, you're charged €20 per towel. This feels unnecessarily punitive. Housekeeping failed to replace used towels even when they were clearly left on the floor, which is a basic standard. Payment was required at check-in rather than check-out, and the receptionist handling the process was unfriendly and unwelcoming. When I arrived with a baby and a pushchair and struggled with the door, no staff member offered help. A fellow guest — not an employee — was the one who assisted me, while the receptionist sat idly. I had to wait an unreasonably long time for the elevator as housekeeping staff and a manager were chatting in one elevator, blocking access and showing no courtesy in allowing guests (me) to go first. The rooftop terrace only offers food service on weekends — a missed opportunity and poor planning, especially for guests staying mid-week. Although moststaff members are kind and appear to be trying their best, the overall execution is lacking. The hotel fails to meet basic hospitality standards, let alone the expectations of a five-star experience. These shortcomings are inexcusable, even in low season. I would not recommend this property to anyone expecting luxury service — or even reliable four-star quality. A disappointing stay.

While the location is excellent , numerous aspects , such as room design , service efficiency and overall guest experience need significant improvement to meet the expectations associated with its rating. The bedrooms are small and have an impractical layout, featuring separate cubicles for the toilet and shower. The privacy offered by the corrugated glass doors is limiting, and having the wash- hand basin located in the bedroom creates awkwardness for those sharing. Storage is minimal,( a simple rail and a couple of narrow shelves) , leading to a cluttered feel. Overall the design choice detracts significantly from comfort and convenience. The public areas aim for a trendy aesthetic , the bar is cool , but uninviting , it was empty most evenings . The breakfast room layout is stylish but impractical , becoming congested during peak times. The absence of table service leads to long queues for coffee and hot food. On two mornings , the broken Nespresso Machines , of which there were only two , further compounded the inconvenience, making the experience frustrating rather than enjoyable . The roof terrace , felt cramped and cluttered , and here again service was lacking with only one staff member on duty to manage the bar and general tidying up. The pool is very narrow and unsuitable for swimming. Although the staff are pleasant , they are desperately in need of leadership. There was no manager on duty during our stay. Overall this hotel fails to deliver a five -star experience , leaving much to be desired in terms of hotel design , organisation and guest experience.

At Elizabeth by the Sea, the hotel’s aspirations to provide a luxurious 5 -star experience starkly contrast with the reality faced by guests. While it aims for a modern , beachside retreat, shortcomings in service, room design & overall management reveals a disconnect between intent and execution. The gap not only undermines the hotel’s credibility, but left us feeling disappointed & unfulfilled. .

We decided on this fantastic hotel due to the facade the location and the private parking Little did we know that this hotel is very worthy of its 5* rating From the start we were met at the car park and escorted to the hotel which takes about 5 minutes The exterior and interior is superb and the facilities are first class The room with the sea view and balcony is breathtaking and seeing the sun rise in the morning is the icing on the cake The room itself is spacious and very clean The breakfast is superb with a chef on hand for all types of eggs The roof with the pool overlooking the beach is superb and the pool though long and not wide is very adequate The spar with jacuzzi cold plunge pool steam and sauna is superb All in all this hotel is really worth the stay and I can say hand on heart it is worth every penny
