Beautiful old building. We had a separate non-shared bathroom. Some rooms share the bathroom. The hotel is sort of half way between a bed and breakfast and a hotel. The location is picturesque with the Tumbarumba Creek across the road. The breakfast was good: Moconna coffee, cereal, excellent sliced fruit and toast. The bathroom was spacious but was a shower in an old bathtub arrangement, in the center of the room. There was only one wall near the tub with only taps to hold onto. If you are old like us with not great balance, this might be very difficult. (See picture) The worst thing about our visit was the non-existent dinner facilities at the inn/pub next door. The owner of the pub told us he will not serve dinners to the Brigham House residents because he is feuding with the owner over campsite access beside the river. The pub is available to non-Brigham residents but obviously we could not avail ourselves of this. These two establishments are all there is to Tooma. So, we travelled ~30km to Tumbarumba for dinner and 30km back for the evening. The problem with night driving is of course, kangaroos and wallabies. We were only told of these dinner difficulties on the day of our arrival. This is in spite of the fact that the feud is long standing - more than 12 months.
