Country Hearth Inn-Toccoa

Remodeled, clean, safe, plenty of parking, nice staff, great value, will come back. This was our second stay. This time chose jaccuzzi suite which also had a shower, freshly remodeled, all the way at the end of the hall. Jacuzzi right in the middle of the room and 2 jacuzzi walls are mirrored. My only complaints, but I will still come back: Breakfast not good, cereal in little ziplocs to control portions I guess? but at this great price, I can get over that. With all that fresh clean tile, even normal noise levels, folks talking in the lobby, crying baby, echoes louder. Luckily I keep earplugs with me when I travel. Also, the mattress was brand new but didn't have a mattress cover, just the sheets. Bedbugs unlikely but wrapping mattress to prevent them getting hold is best. All in all I would recommend for a safe clean value.

The inn is in the midst of renovations. It seems we had a room that was finished (?). Floors were completed, side tables as well. Bathroom was great. No lights for reading on sides of bed - only overheads - this was not good - I like to read before I sleep - my husband wants it dark - so I couldn't read (didn't think to bring my personal light). TV only works for what their system thinks should be free - not cool at all as the cable set up was different than our passworded one from home. Did not have breakfast food there. Bottled water not available from machine near lobby. Older microwave and perfectly fine fridge in room. For 1 night, it was OK. Won't likely use this place again, though. Service at front desk was fine, by the way.

No frills, but clean and quiet. The complimentary breakfast did leave something to be desired, but the coffee was fairly good. Isn’t that the most important thing, after all? The desk attendant was very nice and helpful. All in all, I’d say it was a pretty good pick for a place to stay.

We had a hot tub suite on the second floor (standard rooms were sold out) and it smelled like mildew so it wasnt bearable for more than a couple of days, but other than that we had a great experience and loved it there. Karen and Kristen are amazing people. It feels like we have family in Toccoa. The coffee is *amazing* — also great location — was walking distance from the train and restaurants.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, allowing us to check in early for an event we had. The rooms were overall clean, but stuffy and smelled like mold/mildew. I noticed they had the door propped open and industrial dryers on the floor of the lobby as we walked in. I’m not sure if that was just to simply dry the floor after cleaning, or if there had been a larger leak after rain. It didn’t smell “ clean” so I’m not sure. The hotel is very dated, and the shower leaked excessively. We had to use all of our towels to keep it from running into the bedroom. They gave us more towels when asked. I couldn’t find where they listed hairdryers so I brought my own. It was a good thing, as the one that was in my room was not securely on the wall, and looked like a hazard. I used all of my own toiletries, though they did provide a small bar of soap and small shampoo/conditioner. The location was good - easy to get to the places we needed to be. We did not eat the breakfast that was included as we were going out for brunch, but what I saw was very basic cereal, coffee, juice, etc.

Parking lot security lighting is excellent. The breakfast included a waffle iron for waffles. The hot water is very hot. The water pressure in the shower is extremely powerful, so powerful that it uses an excessive amount of water. The staff are very friendly. The soap bars are small and thin, so thin that they immediately break into multiple pieces making them virtually useless. The bed is so soft that my light-weight body sank too far into the mattress, not good for my spine, not good for side-sleepers.
