I had high expectations for my stay at Nikki Beach Hotel and Spa in Montenegro, especially as I was celebrating my 30th birthday. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I had hoped for. To begin with, the beach club, which was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel, was supposed to close on the day we checked out. However, we were informed just a week before we were due to go that it had already closed three weeks early. This was a major disappointment. The hotel offered us an upgrade and two complimentary massages as compensation, but when we arrived, we were told that no one was available to provide the massages. This added to the frustration. To make matters worse, the sauna and steam room were out of order for the majority of our five-night stay. The service was shockingly slow, and the staff seemed disinterested, likely because the hotel was close to closing for the season. Traveling with a baby, I expected more assistance, but we had to repeatedly ask for even the simplest things. The curtains in our room were broken, didn’t fit properly, and the hotel’s boat, which we had hoped to rent for a day, wasn’t working either. In addition, I had informed the hotel that I was celebrating my 30th birthday, and they confirmed this in their system. However, on the actual day, my partner had to remind them, as they hadn’t done anything to acknowledge the occasion. Something as simple as a cake or balloons in the room would have been appreciated. It was quite disappointing to have to prompt them for this, especially after already feeling let down by the rest of our experience. The overall atmosphere was dull and lifeless. Despite being told we could still use the beach club, there were no sunbeds or seating available. Most of the hotel felt empty, and it lacked any sort of ambiance. For the price we paid, the experience was extremely underwhelming. I left feeling quite deflated, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here, especially towards the end of the season when it seemed like the staff no longer cared.
