Gaga Bees Yala

We had a memorable stay at Gaga Bees Yala. This was our last stop in Sri Lanka after a week moving around the country, and what a perfect place to end our holiday in a peaceful and relaxing way. We stayed 2 nights at this beautiful lodge and did a 7-hour safari, booked and arranged by the Gaga Bees team. We highly recommend the lodge, the team is extremely welcoming and friendly, the accommodations are comfortable and the cuisine is delicious. Thank you so much to Dinesh and team for an unforgettable experience!

What a gorgeous place! We had a lovely warm welcome to this little piece of paradise. The mud hut rooms and setting are just incredible and unforgettable. They also helped me book a safari and we had an excellent time. Thanks again. Would highly recommend, this is a really special place. Xxx

The Staff is smiling and helpful, however the room hasn’t been cleaned during the stay and there was a mouse in the room, which made us uncomfortable and we decided to leave in advance. I wouldn’t recommend as other options are cheaper and cleaner than this one even if they are close to the jungle.

A different experience compared to most other hotels in Sri Lanka. Their chalets are made out of clay and dried coconut leaves which gives a cooler feeling inside. There were not many amenities inside the room except for towels and soap. The entire property is faced a paddy field which looks very picturesque. The staff is nice and friendly. They have an ala-carte menu and their food is quite decent. There is a public pool available. Overall, it's quite good for a short stay.

We stayed at Gaga Bees for one night to go to Yala early the next morning. The hut was super comfortable and the overall vibe of the place was really relaxed and friendly. The swimming pool was great and very welcome in the heat! Our guide for Yala wanted to pick us up at 5:30 in the morning and getting up to make us coffee and a packed breakfast was no problem for the hosts. We had a lovely stay there and would definitely recommend it : )

One of the best places we have stayed in Sri Lanka. We were two girls and felt very safe and looked after. The food is simply fantastic. Staff is so warm - Dilan, Dula, Lakhmal were the kindest. Special shout-out to Nayana - the owner of the property who’s so warm and caring towards her guests. Would definitely add this to a Sri Lankan trip again. Very reasonable too. Please do not miss having the Sri Lankan meal here. It’s the best I’ve had so far.

No service, difficult discussion with staff, manager not available. Staff does not know how to run a hotel and provide a decent service. When we arrived, the staff seemed to be surprised, told us they were fully booked ( we have seen only two other couples) gave us a cabin telling us the additional bed in there would be an upgrade even though we had booked just such a cabine. No housekeeping , only one towel, broken haidryer, ac made annoying sounds, staff was helpless so we had to look after it ourselves, equipment as described in booking was almost completely not provided. No housekeeping, frogs in sink and toilet (cute yet unprofessional). Breakfast box for safari was two buttered toasts, one boiled egg, two sausages, one banana, no drink (we had booked nights including breakfast so this was a bad deal). Breakfast on day of departure was fruit, juice, sandwich. Tea only on explicit request. Menu on the veranda does not show the actual dishes available. No housekeeping. Far far far too expensive for what you get. We had the impression the lads working therewere being left alone with the service and had no experience or were not very ambitious. Manager was never available. Tried to contact the hotel beforehand via mail on behalf of safari booking but mailadress is not working. Communication is a serious problem. I am surprised since previous feedbacks are so positive. Sorry for this very negative one.

We had an amazing time here. The staff is incredibly friendly and it’s impossible to believe they pull this off with just the three of them. The place also looks amazing with the view on the rice fields!

Beautifully located lodge. The small detached bungalows are equipped with 2 seats overlooking the beautiful garden and overlooking the rice fields. Beautifully furnished with natural stone bathroom. Sensational infinity pool for a cool down after the safari also with terrific view. The two staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful. In addition, the cuisine is remarkable. Everything is freshly prepared. We ate every single meal. Thqnk you for this memorable experience.
