The Sloop Inn

Great fun pub, staff were fantastic and the location superb! Right on the lovely Bantham beach a short drive from Hope Cove, Salcombe and Dartmouth. The food in the pub was excellent and very varied and not expensive. The service was friendly. Breakfast was great

Reading some reviews I cannot believe we were in the same pub! The barman did not welcome our family and friends. Insisted that both families ordered together, not separately then split bill after eating. What on earth…..? We moved into bare courtyard with some tables and had to go back into pub due to dreadful smell from drains. The food was not good, no one asked if everything ok. Total disaster. Barman disinterested and verging on rude-dreadful hospitality. Can only think they get business due to position just up from fabulous beach.

Regarding paulajt2017 review on 9th October. I was sat at the bar when you came into the pub. The staff at the pub were more than courteous to you. Jamie answered you as quickly as possible when you came to the bar, even when he was trying to serve an elderly gentleman with parkinsons. Clicking your fingers at the waitress was also completely out of order, and actually thoroughly rude. You need to learn manners if you use the hospitality industry. I hope you are not seen here again, as if I had been working, I would have thrown you out myself.
