Svatma - A Luxury Heritage Resort

Over rated hotel. Very average food. Nice swimming pool but poor seating arrangements next to pool. Could not sleep because of machinery noise in room 304- told because of malfunction in kitchen extraction fan! Excellent hotel manager moved us to a silent room. All the staff extremely friendly except the barman who refused ice cubes for our room & wanted me to pay!!!! Charged for water on the dining table!!!! This hotel takes mainly coach loads of foreign tourists so has got a bit lazy & sloppy.

Svatma is a great place to stay. The hospitality, staff and the food is top notch !, my son and I were visiting from the US and had an amazing stay at his property. Balaji is terrific and guided us very well on the attractions, taxi service etc. Tanjore n Svatma are a “must do” if you plan to visit temples in Tamil Nadu.

Our short one day visit at Svatma Tanjore was excellent, filled with memorable experiences and definitely recommended for any traveller finding a relaxing getaway at a refined hotel. From the moment we entered Svatma, we were made to feel special and welcoming by the staff .Their smile, attention and warmth made our day. The Heritage property exhudes serenity and is well kept and  breathtaking with majestic paintings adorning the walls The pool is hygienically maintained  and can boast of clear pristine water. The rooms were tidy, clean and sufficient amenities were provided, although the washroom was slightly smaller than expected from a 5 star hotel. Special shout-out goes to the restaurant at Svatma (Aahram), which electrified our culinary experience for  lunch, dinner and breakfast thoroughly. Thanks to  Mr.Muthukumaran ( restaurant Supervisor) , who was proficient and knowledgeable about anything on cuisine.He made sure that we were served what we asked for , adding more to our taste buds.The chefs were equally cooperative and enthusiastic to serve the special dishes( local South Indian) that we hankered for a long time. They have a Spa too worth a try with special packages though we missed it out. We thoroughly recommend Svatma to anyone looking to stay at a lovely hospitable getaway in the great city of Thanjavur.
