One Drake Road, Tavistock, Devon

This review is one of only a handful I have ever done. Which tells you I am saving reviews for only the exceptional. This place ticks all the boxes. I came for one night with my Daughter and we loved every second of the stay. It was better than described inside and that doesn't happen often. The hosts were absolutely wonderful. Extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. and their interior design skills need more awards. It was warm and cosy. The bed was heated. The place smelled incredible as soon as we walked in. Location is amazing. Tavistock is a lovely town, anything you want from Dartmoor is nearby. The water was hot. The outside areas are peaceful. I mean it was impeccable. Seriously, not only will I be back, but I will aim to stay here on every visit to Dartmoor in the future. I literally feel no need to book anywhere else. I even misread the child age limit and I do recommend calling ahead if you have young family. I felt I was going to cause upset and actually Charlotte was given a beautiful little toy to take with her, which she loves and was made to feel like the most welcome guest. The cherry on the top for her after a stay she will remember forever. This is a 10/10 apartment.

Jack and Ian have restored this Georgian building in the centre of Tavistock beautifully. I was surprised to find that neither of them are interior designers. Lovely breakfast, including the best sausages I've had in yonks. The couple are very charming and even gave me a Christmas present and a slice of Ian's birthday cake. I come from the Tavistock area, originally, and One Drake Road is a tremendous addition. Hopefully, Jack and Ian take the town over, eventually, and turn it into the Notting Hill of West Devon.

Jack is an amazing host, very welcoming. My en suite bedroom was unique - beautifully designed, lots of little touches like local recommendations, neal’s yard toiletries. Breakfast - which is at additional cost - was so lovely. My husband is coming back for a visit and I’m booking for stay in October. Who needs boring and bland hotel - stay here, you’ll be supporting a small business that puts its heart snd soul into everything they do. And boy, do they do it well. Well done!

The accomodation was amazing. I had the best time and the boys were there to support me with any issues I had, lend an umbrella or share a cup of tea. They facilitated my insane midnight arrival and assured me that if I had any issues they were there to help. The room was decorated and I felt like I was in a magazine. It was curated to perfection with all things a tired traveler could possible need. It was stylish and most of all immaculately clean and tidy. It was environmentally friendly using plastic free milk containers and had loads of local products to try and enjoy. They also provided those little touches that were unbelievable, like where to get food etc. I would not hesitate to stay again and will tell all the Aussie’s back home, that if they’re ever in Tavistock that these accomodations are a must. Thanks again for all the love too. Travelling alone can be lonely at times and a cup of tea and a chat about the world was just what I needed.

Loved this place and really enjoyed our stay. decor is lovely and rooms are so cute and relaxing. It's super clean, and we had a great nights sleep. Location literally on the high Street, so we parked round the corner, and the owners were super friendly and helpful.

We stayed for just one night - it was all very comfortable , breakfast was fine as was our bedroom albeit we shared a bathroom. The owner could not have been more helpful and the nearby pub/restaurant for supper was excellent. l
