Tamarit Beach Resort

The heating of our bungalow was not working and it was very cold and rainy. The service was terrible, we spent 3 days and 2 nights in a frozen bungalow because they didn't want to offer us an alternative The people from maintenance kept on coming to check the heating but were not fixing it.

We booked here at the last minute as most accommodation was gone in Barcelona. We hired a camper and headed off! What an amazing place. On the beach. Great pool. Great restaurants and take away. So safe. Security at night. So clean and spacious.

The resort is beautiful, and the location ideal. The restaurant and snack bar have so much option and the food is delicious. The staff at reception do the bare minimum: check in is at 5pm and there is no flexibility even if your room is ready (we arrived early, waited at the porch outside the room for hours until the electric key worked). We also asked for late checkout and were given a firm NO, without them even checking if our room was even available. I am heavily pregnant and travelling with a toddler and an elderly mother, so I would have appreciated if they simply made the effort to look in the system to see if they could accommodate our request. Instead, we were told to make sure we leave the room on time and head to the cafe by the pool. The temperature is really high at noon and it would have been nice if they had shown some understanding for our situation. They didn't have to, but it would have been appreciated. Finally, they do not keep luggage like so many other resorts do, so we had to carry our luggage for 4h in the heat until departure as we didn't have a car to put it in. I know it's our problem but the lack of flexibility is really not helpful.

We just came back yesterday and can’t wait to go again! This was our first time on this campsite and it did not disappoint! We booked a preferent large pitch with bathroom, the pitch was huge and easily fitted the caravan, awning and car and you could still fit a 4 person tent on it! The campsite itself is stunning, cleaning crews are constantly working either in toilet facilities or around sweeping, raking keeping the park in tiptop shape! There is security round the clock walking round and the access to the beach is gated as its a public beach! The sea was a bit rough when we went but flags are out to determine if safe! The pool is perfect for big and small, there are sunloungers all around that you can use for free, there is no “hogging of beds possible at 8” There is a bar and restaurant at the pool, bar can be a bit slow at times but it serves nice cocktails and lets face it, whats the rush on holiday?? In terms of Wifi, i logged on at the pitch far away from reception and it was superfast and could easily connect to my work when needed! Overall this was the total package for us and we will deffo go again next year!

We visited Tamarit for our 2 week family holiday. The resort is clean, well maintained and has a beautiful beach. It’s also very accessible and near lots of amenities. There is a good shop, coffee / crepe shop and several restaurants, all worth a visit. We found the staff to be friendly and most spoke excellent English, which was highly appreciated. However, we would recommend a few improvements in terms of the accommodation. We stayed in a Noa bungalow, which looks nice in terms of interior design but functionally is quite small and the kitchen workspace is nearly non-existent. That’s fine if you’re not planning on cooking, but worth knowing if you are. Sadly we had a few uninvited visitors to our kitchen cupboards a few days into our holiday- tiny ants invaded, crawling all over our food. Luckily most of it was sealed, but they got into anything unsealed, so we had to move our food into bags and leave it on the sofa the rest of the holiday. We reported the ants to reception and they sent cleaners the same day, but that didn’t stop them, they just went to the next cupboard and all over the top of the cupboard instead, then ventured into the shower room and the bedrooms. They are tiny little things, not like normal ants, but they’re still pests and caused us quite a lot of hassle, having to constantly clean all the surfaces and sweep the floor of any crumbs after every meal. It took 6 days for the cleaners to finally get rid of the ants, but by then we didn’t dare put the food back in the cupboards, so it stayed on the sofa. I appreciate that the site is in the outside environment and the walls are thin, it’s easy for bugs to get in and you expect a certain amount of that. However this really didn’t make for a relaxing holiday and we felt more could be done in terms of preventative cleaning. The double bed was extremely uncomfortable and noisy, even just turning over caused massive squeaking, waking us both up when one person moved. The bed legs didn’t sit evenly on the floor, with one leg raised about a centimetre off the floor. We didn’t sleep well at all during the holiday and most mornings we experienced aches from the hard mattresses and poor pillows. Even the children said theirs were uncomfortable! We would suggest upgrading them to a better quality and reviewing the squeaks in the bed frame. Finally, we were looking forward to sitting outside on the deck and the lovely sofas pictured on the resort site. It was unfortunate that our bungalow deck had a large tree in the middle of it which constantly dropped dead leaves and needed sweeping every day. There were lots of little ants on the sofas too, dropping from the tree. We had to sit on towels in order not to have them crawling on us whilst sitting outside. The tree looks really nice, but practically speaking it was something else to clean up after. Absolutely fabulous resort for a family holiday (3 generations). Location close to beach and resort facilities were excellent. Stayed in Atanea villa. Self contained, clean, spacious and comfortable. Villas enclosure and layout as a small 'village' were so safe and secure for small children. The staff at reception were friendly, courteous and professional with nothing too much trouble. Would definitely recommend Tamarit Beach Resort.
