Medea Residence Appartamenti Vacanze

Visited for 4 nights. Great as a base to explore. A very secure site with locked gates. This is not an overly large complex so I imagine it is never crowded. Everywhere very clean. Our lower floor room appeared freshly decorated and furnished. Neutral modern décor and everything we needed in the kitchenette to prepare breakfast and a pasta dish of an evening. Absence of a kettle no problem as we boiled water on the hob. Our bed was positioned so that we opened the patio doors in the morning and overlooked the view of the mountains. All our meals taken on our small narrow balcony which was peaceful and cool. We liked it all. Apartments close to everything you want. (Footpath/steps to beach, mini market, public gardens, old town, buses, cable car) However, being just outside the centre means it is quiet and you can sleep. The swimming pool is covered over late at night to retain heat and so it is always warm. It is also a safe depth for children. You have to check out of your room by 11a.m but you are allowed to use the pool until you leave and bags can be left in reception. (Helpful if you have a late flight.) There is a newly decorated poolside bathroom & toilet with a hot shower so you can freshen up before a flight. We did not use the B.B.Q area near the pool but it was a nice addition. The pool is encased in a large hardwood decking area. Over the years the smooth wood has matured & it is now bleached silver grey, giving the poolside a relaxed feel. The free sun loungers around the pool are comfortable but they have been well used and the canvas is beginning to fray a little around the edges. (different to some in photos) The Maintenance Assistant can be seen working on site every day. The citrus trees in the grounds provide natural shade to the pool and some terraces. However, I would suggest a Tree Surgeon needs to give them some attention. If not within a few years the trees will have taken over, obscuring lovely views and intruding onto terraces/ balconies. There is plenty of paving around the complex but only a few smaller green grassy areas and some smaller spaces are barren. I appreciate we visited in September and maybe the long hot summer has taken its toll on the grounds. I would recommend this complex because of its location, the use of a pool and the nice room we had. We think it possible that parts of this complex are gradually being updated each year so it can only get even better.

Location is great - a 5-10 minute walk away from Taormina centre (uphill). Esther the host was very friendly and easily contactable. The room amenities were great - small studio-type apartment with kitchenette and balcony. The pool area was very peaceful. The only thing we would recommend upgrading is the bed. Highly recommended.

Prachtige locatie net buiten het drukke centrum. Voor onze bruiloft hebben wij 6 appartementen geboekt. Allemaal sfeervol ingericht en voorzien van vele luxe extra's. Zeer schoon en goed onderhouden appartementen. Vriendelijke medewerkers. Wij gaan hier zeker weer naar toe.
