Tannum on the Beach Motel

Tannum on the Beach Motel is close to the beach. I used to stay here for work years ago and it had a magnificent view, unfortunately not any more. The trees in the park between the motel and the beach have grown to such an extent that what made this location fantastic in the past is all but negated, however its not the fault of the owners..... The motel itself looks pretty much the same as it did when it was built back in the 80's but has been updated with wall mounted TV. Still has a very low useless pelmet above the main bed that one crashes one's head into if laying down enthusiastically.... The room wasn't cleaned during our two nights stay or the milk replaced, not sure if that is the norm but a minor issue. Still a worthy place to stay and I would stay there again...

I stayed here only for one night. Check-in was quick and friendly and I could park for free anywhere there was a spot. I was on the first level (there is only ground floor and level 1) with a sea view and a view of the pool. Be aware that access to the first level is via stairs, no lift. I had a queen room, with a little kitchenette, that included a microwave, small fridge, kitchen utensils and a sink. The room was very clean and nicely presented. There is wifi available and access to streaming services on the TV. There is a sliding door to a balcony where you can sit at a table to enjoy the view. The queen bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a shower that was hot with good pressure. The place was very quiet, had an air-conditioner, but I found the overhead fan was enough. The location is perfect for access to the beach, walks, shopping (Coles and other stores a couple of minutes drive away), eateries (walking distance to the surf club, a restaurant and a takeaway). You are only 20 minutes away from Gladstone and other tourist destinations, like Lake Awoonga and Calliope. Overall, I really enjoyed my very brief stay here, and would definitely stay here again.

Wow what an amazing place. What an amazing view and so close to the beach couldn’t have asked for more. There’s so much to do in Boyne Island/Tannum Sands, from swimming at the beach to fishing in the Boyne river or having a hit at the local golf club the activities are yours to be found. The shopping and restaurants are also something you can’t missed. Staying at Tannum on the beach was the best, so close to the beach,restaurants and shops that everything’s within walking distance. What an amazing place, couldn’t have been happier with the stay just amazing.
