We have stayed here 5 times in the last 6 years, but haven't previously reviewed Destino because we had nothing to compare it with until we stayed at Oku in September having decided "we think we're done with Destino". The good bits. The location is amazing - set high on Cap Martinet with incredible views across the bay to Ibiza town. The view from the pool area is fantastic, and watching the sun go down over the Old Town never gets old. The hotel is at the end of the road, so quiet and relatively secluded but only 7 minutes in a cab to town and Pacha. If you fancy a dip in the sea or eating out, there are swimming spots at Cala Talamanca 1km away and a couple of decent places to eat (Sa Punta/ Fish Shack). The pool area is a fantastic place to chill out with amazing views and great tunes. The pool is nice and big. The vibe. Calm and relaxed where it needs to be, you'll feel it the moment you arrive in the impressive reception. While other Ibizan hotels bill themselves as havens of peace and bohemian tranquility, Destino delivers this on many levels due to the location and layout. The exceptions are around the pool as the tunes slowly ramp up throughout the afternoon into the evening, and if you are lucky enough to be there for one of Destino's legendary music events. The music. This is where Destino absolutely kills it IMHO. There is a DJ in the pool area daily, and the tunes build slowly and subtly during the day until sunset. Destino also hosts regular music events at their sound stage which are free to residents who are able to enjoy the event from the pool area away from the crowds who flock to see some pretty big names. We have seen Guy Gerber and Marco Carolla there. We didn't really realise how well Destino did this till we stayed at OKU. Pacha. The legendary nightclub is free to enter for Destino guests (make sure you get added to the guest list first), and is 7 minutes by taxi. Because of this, we've got to know Pacha pretty well over the years! The layout. I'm not a fan of big hotels - lifts, corridors, layer upon layer of balconies, squeezed in round the pool etc. Destino's rooms are all spread out in the expansive gardens and accessed from the outside. There is lots of space and light. The breakfast Fantastic breakfasts - definitely better than OKU. Make sure you get breakfast with your stay. The not-so-good bits. The rooms. The rooms let Destino down. They look a bit tired, and aren't particularly large, well-furnished, appointed or decorated. A Nespresso machine would be nice, if you're listening Destino ;). They are bright and airy, though. The bar bill. We usually stay here with a group of friends, and have never been able to understand why the bill at the end of our stay manages to be quite so big. This is in part down to the way they take orders around the pool - if you're in a group, they won't simply bill your order to your own room, but lump it all in as a group. This means at the end of the day no one has any i
