We had our Wedding at The Upper House 22/06/24 and the day went amazing! The staff and our Wedding Coordinator Ellie were so helpful throughout the whole planning of the Wedding and the day itself, they went above and beyond for us. Compliments throughout from our guests on how amazing the Venue, location and food was! We have visited The Upper House a few times before the wedding day and its been amazing each time, we definitely will be returning back and recommending to anyone that The Upper House is the best wedding venue to have! Ellie and the staff team were so helpful with us on answering any questions and assisting with our special requests, we couldn't be happier on our Venue choice!

Beautiful location. Stately home set in fabulous gardens. It’s incredible the prices are so affordable. An absolute gem of a find. It’s family run and you can tell in their care to ensure you enjoy your stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable and I assume every one of them has nice a view from the window as we did. The food is very reasonably priced. Exceptionally cooked and presented. I would have no hesitation booking this hotel, whether a couples night away, a birthday party, funeral wake, small conference, just dinner or simply a weeks holiday. I only wish I lived closer!

Absolutely brilliant stay. Staff were amazing and went beyond what they should. Room and food was also to die for. Amazing. Even the cat was friendly. Room amount even covers a stunning breakfast a full English breakfast. Can go for long relaxing walks

Fantastic organisation of a large birthday party group on a date with 2 other functions already going on - on a horrendous wet stormy night. Nothing was too much trouble & all went smoothly. The staff never seemed stressed or too busy to help despite being very busy themselves. Highly recommended.

What a lovely place. From the welcome, to the room, to the excellent food all 10/10. As usual though the people make the place and everyone I spoke to couldn’t have been more charming. Parking was plentiful and only a few metres from the door. Thank you.

We very much enjoyed our short stay in this hotel particularly for its beautiful location, lovely grounds and rich history. It must be a beautiful venue for a wedding. It is clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished. All of the staff we came across were efficient, friendly and seemed to be happy in their work. The dinner menu was not extensive but the ingredients were good, prepared well, and we enjoyed the fact that there was nothing pretentious about the menu. Just one small problem - the speed bump at the entrance is very severe and did some minor damage to our car, but it is a particularly low car. We would love to return to this hotel.

The hotel setting is lovely and the rooms downstairs fine and spacious. Our bedroom was cosy, bed very comfy and shower excellent. The towel rail was a heated one but rather small do we couldn’t dry our towels. The food in the dining room both breakfast and dinner was well cooked and varied. The mackerel fish cakes a favourite. We would happily come back to stay.

We got married at The Upper House. The hotel is lovely and the grounds in particular are amazing for photographs. The venue was the perfect size for our wedding with enough room for people to spread out without feeling too big or impersonal. Our guests had a brilliant day and a lot of them stayed overnight at the hotel. Everyone enjoyed their stay and had a very comfortable night's sleep. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. All the staff have been so friendly and patient helping us to arrange our day. We cannot thank them enough. A place to think about if you need a wedding venue!
