I went to this hotel for a 4 day trip with my daughter with the intention of spending most of the time at the beach. The property is lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. The beach, however is closed due to a seaweed invasion.They have piles of seaweed on the beach and this problem started in 2020 so they have had plenty of time to address it or disclose this to travelers but they did not. This is false advertising and when I contacted American Airline Vacations to move us to a different property they informed me they would not. In essence it is my problem. I am posting this to warn other travelers as I wish someone had posted a review before this. I would not have booked this hotel if I had known this. FYI most of the hotels and resorts on this side of the island have the same problem so consider booking on the West side of the island if you are planning a trip.

Barbados for me has been the best holiday destination. It’s hard to say way without sounding cliched but the down to earth feel, the generosity of spirit, the amazing scenery and so on. Bougainvillea takes all of this and more and makes it the most perfect place. Staff are amazing. So helpful and friendly with a proper human touch and that is everyone from receptionist, gardeners, chefs, waiting staff and security. My mos favourite place on the planet has also become my daughters and we first brought her here when she was one. She’s now eighteen.

I’ve just returned from another incredible stay at Bougainvillea, only 7 weeks after my last visit, and my 3rd visit since October 2023. This time, it was to celebrate my mum’s 60th birthday, and the experience was nothing short of magical. Every single staff member went above and beyond to make her special day one we’ll never forget. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the wonderful front desk team. Elisabeth and Natasha greeted us like old friends, and it was such a joy to see them again. Special thanks also to Ziwade, Rachel, and all the ladies at reception who create a real family atmosphere. The hotel management was amazing in helping me arrange a beautiful steel pan performance during lunchtime, which truly added a Caribbean flair to the celebration. My mum’s morning spa treatment was equally fantastic—huge thanks to the spa ladies for making her feel so pampered and relaxed. A massive thank you, once again, to the water sports team: Michael, Zaran, Kai and Antonio. We missed Chris, who was on holiday, but Michael made sure everything ran smoothly. Each morning, our sunloungers and parasols were ready and waiting for us, thanks to his thoughtful care. He truly is wonderful, and his presence adds so much joy to our stay. Michael also recommended some fantastic places for us to visit, sharing his deep knowledge of the island. The restaurant staff were, as always, brilliant. Special thanks to Miss Roxanne, and also to Nicole and Kayla, who made every meal a treat. And of course, a shout-out to Josh for keeping us topped up with mudslides, rum sours, and daiquiris. It was also so lovely to see Miss Rowe back—her warmth and kindness are such a big part of what makes Bougainvillea special. This trip was everything we could have hoped for and more. Bougainvillea truly feels like a second home, and I have already booked to return for another unforgettable stay!

My wife and I visited this hotel and Batbados for the first time and we loved our time here! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted to a Rum punch which was a lively touch. The food at the Calabash restaurant was spot on on all of the 2 weeks we ate there. Additionally, the staff very friendly and also were attentive, ie filling up glasses of water on hot days. Calabash also provided live entertainment shows at the weekend which was excellent. Beech staff were very accommodating with setting up brolls beach side to keep you cooler in the shade. The rooms were clean, with a queen size bed , which was comfortable as well as comfortable pillows. Good shower and air con facilities. It’s definitely a place we will return to. The one word of caution is to bring anti itch cream / anti mosquito replellent as I was bitten quite often.

A really nice hotel. The staff are all very polite and courteous and the accommodation is very good. They cannot do enough for you when at the beach, if they see you have no shade they bring out an umbrella. They often bring around cold face clothes to cool you down and sometimes even a tray of Jell-O shots. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. The on site restaurant is very good. They go above and beyond to address any concerns raised. Had an issue with something and they did everything they could to address the situation and contacted us personally to apologize, really appreciate the response from customer services. Thing’s have definitely improved. A sign of a good hotel is when they listen to their guests and try to help. Thank you. The hotel is a little isolated with not many restaurants around and it is better to rent a car for a few days or use public transport but it’s a beautiful location on a wonderful beach. St Lawrence Gap and Oistins are about 15 - 20 minute walk away if you want to visit bars, other restaurants and join in the Friday night Fish Fry at Oistins. Also just a short walk to the main road where you can catch a bus and there are taxis at the hotel of you need one. Overall it’s a great place to stay. Would definitely visit again.

Worst steak I have ever had. Terrible rude waiter who was so snobby and rude. Too cold and tasteless, 1 star is too much. The beer was also flat and took half hour to come. Pathetic services along with terrible music. I couldn’t give this joint a more negative review!

Fabulous holiday, we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and it was fantastic. The rooms were big enough for our family of 4 and we had a kitchen too. The rooms were cleaned every day. The restaurant, Calabash, is fantastic, the food is delicious. We made good use of the Happy hour at 3.30pm, the rum punches were excellent! The hotel is set on a beautiful beach and the sea is everything you would wish for. ALL the staff were helpful, the guys at the water sports helped with paddle boarding and were always friendly if you needed anything. The kayaks/boogie boards/paddle boards were all complimentary. The reception staff, the staff in the restaurant and the lovely lady in the shop all made it a fabulous holiday. If you are thinking of booking here you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for a wonderful holiday, we will definitely return. We booked direct with the hotel.

We were in a Deluxe Studio for the last week in March. We booked a travel package with Air Canada. Almost all our meals were at Calabash which were always excellent, especially the fish dinners; as well as the Indian meals which were served on Saturday. We enjoyed the beautiful ocean view each morning. We also had two meals at Deia Beach Restaurant which is beside Bougainvillea. The pizza was excellent. A cab to Bridgetown one way was $30.00. (US Dollars) I was surprised at the price but enjoyed the trip both ways seeing the sights on the way. Entertainment was held each night ending usually around 10:30-11:00 pm. A steel drum performer played for most of the Saturday afternoon. Staff were exceptionally friendly and did a great job. We booked a full day (7 hrs) excursion of the island on the Friday through Viator which was excellent. We went over to St Lawrence Gap on Saturday around noon and managed to have a wonderful flying fish sandwich with Banks Beer for lunch. It is an easy walk down the beach to Dover Beach and then out to the road beside the hotel. I hope that we can return again soon.
