This property was The Grand Bhagwati (TGB) earlier. Now it seems to be taken by LeMeridien. But, as a staff of the hotel told me Le Meridian would only take the hotel when whole of the hotel is renovated. It appears that the staff and crew of this hotel couldn’t care less about the hotel. The building called Orange Megastructure is impressive. But, as I stepped inside the room no.721, I was greeted by corpse of a dead cockroach lying on the floor of the washroom (refer to the picture). I quickly brought it to the notice of the bell boy who brought in my luggage to the room. The boy called someone over the phone; and dead cockroach was removed. I requested the boy to have my room changed; but to no avail. Though the room was spacious with amenities; but there was a constant smell (as though the room wasn’t used for months. The chain lock was broken; so security seemed an issue. For such a worn out hotel, tariff @7-8k is unreasonable and the food rates are too high. As I mentioned in the title of the review, it’s a loooong wait till TGB becomes Le Meridian.
