Well, for a 4-star hotel… it definitely earned every single one of them (and maybe even a bonus star for the tequila service)! From the moment we walked into the hotel, we were treated like royalty—if royalty showed up sweaty, sleep-deprived, and clutching passports like their lives depended on it. David at reception greeted us like an old friend and deserves a massive pay rise or at least a lifetime supply of complimentary minibar snacks. Shoutout to Stefan, Ivan, and Rado too—always smiling, always helpful, and never once judged us for stumbling back from the bar with pizza in hand. Check-in was smoother than a well-aged whiskey. Everything was clearly explained, and they even offered us food—which, honestly, is the best way to get on our good side. We made a pit stop at the 24-hour lobby bar (because priorities), and instantly made new besties: Christian, Beka, and two more legends whose names escape us—but whose cocktail-making skills live rent-free in our memories. Tequila, beer, gin & tonic—repeat daily. We built such a good relationship with the bar staff, I half expected to be invited to someone’s wedding by the end of the trip. The laughs were endless, and they made our family feel incredibly welcome—plus, they kept the drinks flowing like they were training for a hospitality Olympics. The hotel itself? Immaculate. The place was cleaner than my conscience after three Pina Coladas . Housekeeping were lovely, always up for a quick joke, and kept the rooms fresh, tidy, and towel-stocked like absolute pros. Rooms? Basic but spotless. You won’t find gold taps and velvet wallpaper, but you will find clean beds, fresh towels, and a shower that didn’t try to attack you. Good balconies , What more do you need? Pool bar: a gift from the vacation gods. There’s a young guy working the pizza oven like a culinary ninja—my daughter doesn’t like cheese (yes, I know, how?) and he whipped up a custom pizza just for her without even blinking. Legend. The pool bar team were also stars—loading us up with extra ice, takeaway drink boxes, and maybe one or two “walking” beers for our beach strolls. Absolute heroes. Shoutout to Nadji, Rene, Nick, and the fastest glass collector in the West. Ashtrays emptied before you could flick your cigarette, empty glasses gone like magic. It’s like they had a sixth sense for mess. Lifeguards were on point—vigilant, professional, and somehow managed to look cool while walking in 35°C heat. Also: no need to play sunbed Hunger Games at 6:30am. There were always beds available, which is basically a miracle in hotel terms. Food: consistently excellent. Something for everyone—from fresh salads to crispy chips, top cuts of meat, and of course… pizza. (Can you tell we loved the pizza?) Restaurants were top-notch, and the snacks kept us fuelled between beach beers and pool dips. Alcohol: plentiful and delightful. Could it be stronger? Maybe. But if you’re like me and find yourself on the tequila train by 2pm every day… then no
