Barcelo Royal Beach Hotel

Brilliant holiday. Staff so friendly and can't do enough for you. Great entertainment for the kids. Booked use of the courtesy room as well on our last day as we didn't fly till late at night which was very useful. Will definitely be back

Well, what can I say? From the moment we arrived, everything went wrong. When we arrived at the hotel, despite travelling all day, we still had to wait an hour past the 2 PM check-in time to get into our room. The room itself was an instant disappointment. It was small, dated, and not at all like the room that was on Jet2's website The thing that gets me the most about the hotel was the fact that the hotel also houses permanent residents in rooms right next to guests. This led to a terrifying experience when the couple next door had a huge domestic dispute that resulted in the police being called. We were horrified when our neighbour, in a state of panic, knocked on our door for help as her husband was attacking her. The hotel staff couldn't do much, as the couple were permanent residents which alarmed us completely, although the hotel did offer us compensation it still doesnt derail the fact I do not expect this experience on a holiday that was paid for. The service was also lacking. On several occasions, our room wasn't restocked with towels which lead me to daily visits to reception asking for towels, not great when you have to wait shower to remove all the seagull mess from your feet. While Todor from Guest Relations did his best to help, offering complimentary gifts, this was overshadowed by another major disappointment. It appears a hotel staff member stole my AirPods, and three weeks later, I can see they are still being used at the hotel. Despite reporting this, the hotel has done nothing about it to this day. As a Jet2 rep mentioned to me, a "4-star" rating in Eastern Europe is not the same as a "4-star" in Western Europe. If you've had holidays in places like Spain, do not expect the same level of quality here. The food was cold and lacked variety, and it's clearly not catered to an English palate. On a positive note, the animation team was absolutely fantastic. My daughter adored them all and they were a definite highlight of our trip.

We booked our stay at the Barceló Royal Hotel with high hopes of a 5-star experience, but unfortunately, the reality fell far short of our expectations. While there were some good points, the overall experience was deeply disappointing and does not justify the luxury rating. The Only 5-Star Aspect Main Buffet: The main buffet for lunch and dinner was excellent, offering a wide variety of high-quality dishes. This was the one truly positive highlight of our stay. Where the Hotel Falls Short Misleading "All-Inclusive": The "all-inclusive" package is very misleading. Many items, including various drinks and food at the pool bar, come at an extra cost. They didn't even have non-alcoholic beer, and the sodas were terrible, tasting like watered-down concentrated syrup. Cold Pool and Child Sickness: The water in the pool was so cold that our children got sick on the very first day. This is unacceptable for a family-friendly hotel. The towel policy was also absurdly restrictive: you could only pick them up between 9-11 a.m. and return them between 5-7 p.m. Lack of Cleanliness: The public restrooms throughout the hotel were consistently dirty. Even worse, our room was not cleaned at all for the first three days of our stay. Poor Service and Policies: The food at the poolside bar was dreadful. The sandwiches were cold and inedible, and the ice cream was kept under lock and key and only available at specific times. The hotel does not have a private beach, and even the private parking comes with an extra fee. Conclusion: The Barceló Royal Hotel does not deserve its 5-star rating. It simply doesn't compare to the level of luxury and service found in hotels in Arab countries. Given the high price we paid, we were extremely disappointed with the lack of quality and poor management.

First holiday to Bulgaria Sunny Beach, stayed at the Barcelo Royal Beach, frome the start the staff have been welcoming we arrived late early hours check-in was fast was also given a courtesy food bag with sandwich fruit and water. We had a 1 bedroom apartment pool facing on the 5th floor we could also see the sea which was fab. The rooms are spacious and clean, maid service everyday. Food you have 2 restaurants to choose from both with a good selection you won't go hungry. The pool bar also has a great selection of drinks and food. Todor the guest relations manager helped us on the last day as we didn't fly home till 11.15pm collection at 8pm he kindly arranged the courtesy room for us to shower and get ready for our trip home. The other facilities the kids club looked very involved and fun although we didnt have kids so can't comment too much and we didn't make use if the spa. The beach is close by and although looks very busy is surprisingly calm and relaxing. Great stay at this hotel thank you to all the staff Sandra from Jet 2 was also a great help with advise on buses, trips, nice restaurants and bars.

This is my favorite hotel at the Black Sea coast and I’ve been there 5 times so far. The facilities are clean, the food is good, the pools are great, and the sea is nearby. There’s no more to wish for!

There is someone currently sitting in this hotel with my stolen AirPods. They may have removed the apple account but I’m still able to track them and will be able to track them all the way to their home. Do the right thing and hand them in before I call authorities.
