Caswell Resort

This place is probably one of the sketchiest hotels I've ever stayed. The room was inundated with flies, the towels were thread bare, cigarette butts all over the grass outside, the dirt on the floor leading into the building of my room was filthy, the lock on the door is simply a "turn and push" knob to lock the door. No deadbolt, not even a chain. I did not feel safe. Slept horribly because I was so uncomfortable in my room. If the price is too good, there's typically a reason. I should have listened to my gut instinct. I can't ever see myself going back to this place without a major renovation and deep clean.

Very comfortable bed and pillows and the room opened out to the beach. Paddle boats and canoes free for use. It’s an old place taken on by a family. They could not have been more accommodating or kind. Sure the place could use a lick of paint here and there but if you’re after comfortable beds beautiful views welcoming hosts this is your place. Would definitely return.

Very misleading advertisement about this place. Very unhygienic, smelly , moldy ,outdated . Bedspreads were covered with unknown yellowish stains, floors very dirty, stained, window seals moldy, lamp shads covered with thick dust, shower curtain bottom covered with black mold, burned marks on sink and bathroom floor, coffee maker moldy, non working tv , claimed indoor pool closed for winter, in Sunday wintery afternoon we are basically stranded in the middle of no where, no resturant or food nearby open, nomicrowave in the room for at least to warm up something to eat . Not recommend, this place needs to be shut down and get inspected by the officials. Not going to use the shower or sleep under the covers, so disgusting 😒

Way outdated rooms. Ok. Let me list things here: Not accessible friendly Sunday of Family Day weekend and no place to get a dinner yet front desk listed off three or four places Not even a dam microwave in the room!! Burn marks on rug Bed cover and shower curtain disgustingly dirty Coffee maker dirty $150 damage deposit. Hint. Take pictures of the damage already in your room Not recommended

The Health Unit will be going out tomorrow December 28 to investigate. I also sent everything to the Town of Sundridge who reopen January 2nd seeing as these folks went through and finalized the charges today. Credit Card dispute in the works but maybe they could use the money for a clean blanket 🤔🤔 Feel free to share this post for others to see. Well change of plans thanks to this disgusting hotel. Heading home tonight because I refused to stay here and they are refusing to cancel our reservation and they plan to finalize the charges. We were there less than 20 mins and during that 20 mins we stood outside for a smoke and watched the people next to us show the General Manager, Niel Patel, how the back door doesn't actually stop entry despite the lock being latched. When Jamie approached him he took the key and said fine. Never offered another room and never asked why 🙄 Merry Christmas to these folks at the Caswell Resort Hotel in Sundridge, ON.

It was okay. We recently stayed at Caswell Resort and were quite disappointed with the state of our rooms. It was evident the rooms were in need of a deep clean. We always do a check of sheets and mattresses upon arrival. While the top sheets were clean, there were many stains, debris, and hair on the cover on the box spring. Behind the bed, the floors were quite dirty. Our window did not lock and the blinds on our door did not go to the floor, so privacy wasn't great. We asked the staff to address the cleanliness issue, and while kind, there wasn't much done to remedy the situation. It did seem understaffed. The location is great. The waterfront cabins walk out to the beach and the lake which is beautiful. There's a great little park next door with a playground. If the rooms were kept better, the location would be prime.
