Hyatt Place Sumter/Downtown

Very clean. The breakfast is delicious. The staff is very friendly. A great place to stay in Sumter.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hyatt Place Sumter/Downtown, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I felt welcomed by the warm and friendly staff. Location: Situated at 18 N Main St, Sumter, SC, this hotel is conveniently placed for both business and leisure travelers. It’s close to local attractions and dining options, making it an ideal choice. Rooms: The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and impeccably clean. I appreciated the thoughtful amenities, including a kitchenette, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, and a private bathroom. The comfortable seating area allowed me to unwind after a day of exploring. Service: The staff at Hyatt Place Sumter/Downtown truly goes above and beyond. Their commitment to guest satisfaction is evident in every interaction. Whether you need assistance or recommendations, they’re always ready to help. Not sure about the phone system. We weren’t able to make call to the desk. Not sure how the phone works. Seemed to be dead. Also the bathroom floor filled with water when using the handicap shower. It was messy.

For Sumter SC, this hotel was s gem. It was plush. Loved the shower and the bed was very comfy. BREAKFAST was ok too.

Our stay was nice. The latch on the bathroom door was broken, but it did not cause any problems. The breakfast was VERY good. It wasn't the typical "heat up in the microwave" garbage most places serve. Service was friendly and prompt

The breakfast was not tended to so the area was not only almost empty by 830 but it was also a mess. The food itself was not good. The waffles were too hard to eat. The second morning the bacon was too hard to eat. There was hair on the walls of the shower. It looked as if it were from someone shaving their face. There was mildew on the grout. For what I paid per night I would have expected better.

The down button on the elevator wasn't working so we figured out we had to hit the up button, once in the elevator we had to wait for the door to close, then we could hit a lower floor. The front desk didn't mention it so maybe not aware. We will notify on checkout. Only stayed 1 night. Also, the room door slams shut. Otherwise it is very clean and quiet. The bed is very comfortable.

It's in the middle of downtown and in the center of everything. We will be back.

Beautiful hotel. Nice room. Breakfast was nice. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
