Eastwood Lodge

Eastwood lodge was my home for a month of May 2024. The service was great I felt like family the way the owners treated me and other guests that were at the lodge. Terry and Andre went above and beyond to accomodate me and I would like to extend my gratitude to them and the staff for great accomodation, meals and ensuring that all my needs were met, and exceeded. I would definately recommend them to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Springs area, whether business or pleasure.

We have lived in Norfolk and Suffolk and so know how artificially expensive Southwold and the area can be. Eastwood Lodge is a great value for money option if you’d like to stay near Southwold. It is a little out of walberswick on a road with no path or lights but we drove there about 3-5 mins for food in the Bell. Eastwood Lodge was warm and comfortable. It had everything we needed for a couple of days stay with our dog in the local area. The communication prior to check in was detailed and effective. Breakfast was provided in the room , was well considered and there was a variety of options available. This is not a luxury option - but the price reflects this. It is however well managed, well thought through and well provisioned. A great place to stay with your pooch 🐶 with lots of country walks and dog friendly establishments around

Eastwood Lodge It can only be described as basic but clean. There was a plethora of notices in several places about turning off lights and leaving the room key; these could have been replaced by one laminated sheet. The television was not working, we suspected for a while, but thankfully the wifi was. The beds were comfortable enough. The breakfast was not continental as described; where were the cheeses and cold meats? There was porridge and cornflakes, but no fruit or yoghurt. Brown bread which when toasted was like coarse sand, a small tub of margarine, marmalade and jam; as the trouble had been taken to put the margarine in a plastic tub, why not do the same with decent jam and marmalade instead of ‘plastic mini pots’, the sort provided in service stations etc? There was instant coffee, sugar and tea bags, milk and orange juice. A coffee machine was advertised but only a cafetiere and no ground coffee. There was a toaster and a microwave. To us this seemed like a place for walkers who would want a hearty breakfast to set them up for the day, not a minimalist apology. Fortunately I had taken my own towels, 2 small thin bath towels were provided but no bath mat. The bathroom door would not shut, it swung open all the time into the kitchen, dining area which was unpleasant. There was no cooker as shown in the pictures!

The Lodge is fantastic value for money, ideally situated a mile out of Walberswick and with lovely walks from the door. The hosts have thought of everything, with a generous breakfast in the fridge and comfortable furnishings. We thought it would be very basic and just somewhere to sleep but discovered it was nice enough to spend time here, sitting in the garden. Thoroughly recommend!

Photos look lovely but in reality "you cant polish a turd". No carpet on the stairs so late night revelers stampede like elephants upstairs upsetting the pet freindly rooms downstairs. Definitely wont be returning 😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒
