In terms of facilities this resort will probably rival ACEA (also located in Subic Bay). Well-designed, well-maintained and classy rooms. The overwater casitas, in general, would be perfect for big families. The De Luxe room with Loft for smaller groups. The beach and pool area are of sizes just enough to accommodate guests. Speaking of the beach, it is nice, with clear waters, but the rocks, pebbles and shells make it feel like you are walking around Lego bricks. The food can be iffy; some are quite good, others make you wonder why they look and taste like they do. We arrived on a Sunday, so presumably most of the crowd had already left. But the staff seemed overwhelmed at this point. By afternoon, no beach towels were available. The guy in yellow (he’s your towel guy) tells us the towels are still in the dryer. The towels never did arrive, leaving us walking into the room all dripping and very wet. When we went to the restaurant later for dinner, we were asked if we had a reservation. I mean, we were resort guests, in a resort several kilometers away from the nearest restaurant; were we expected to dine elsewhere? Wifi is very spotty. One moment you’re connected, and 5 mins later you’re out. We talked to the front desk about this, and they promised to look into it. It never did get sorted out. This is a really nice place to go to, 3 hours away from Metro Manila. Worth the price, but I know the wifi is a deal breaker for many. I asked our kids about this and if they were willing to come back, and they said, no longer than an overnight stay.
