My daughter and I had confirmed reservations for one night, Friday August 12th, 2022. As we realized we would be arriving late evening we called ahead to hold our room. When we called our calls went to an answering system and when we received no call back we tried twice more. When we arrived at 8:45pm there were two other parties at the counter ahead of us. They were being told that the hotel had overbooked and had no rooms available. The clerk started rambling that they were in the process of calling the affected parties. Then she said they had four staff quit that week. We asked if she might help us find alternate lodgings, she said they had no agreements with other properties. We noticed a Hampton Inn nearby and went over and they had rooms available for all three parties. The rate for the Wyndham was about $120, the rate at the Hampton (with our rewards membership was about $180. I wrote to Wyndham customer service stating that I think they should cover the difference in cost between our Hampton rate and the cost quoted in our confirmed Wyndham conformation. Customer service sent me a reply to send them a copy of our bill and they would get back to us in a week. We have not heard from them since, even as I requested a verification that they received the documents.
