Avoncot Guest House

An absolute gem , we stayed here for two nights visiting the Xmas market ,our room was perfect ,spotlessly clean ( as was everywhere) comfortable,warm with everything you could need , 5 min walk to town ( left our car in their car park ,breakfast was very good , lovely hosts would definitely stay again

2 night stay. Lovely comfy bed and spotlessly clean room. Excellent cooked breakfasts with plenty of cereal to choose from if you wanted it. Kitchen on the 1st floor if you wanted to use it. We were right at the top of the house overlooking gardens. Nice and peaceful. Would definitely return again.

Pick this! Stratford Upon Avon has a number of Bed and Breakfast options, often on the same row in identical buildings. We picked Avoncote by chance and were delightfully surprised. Located about a 10 minute walk from the train station, and about 10 minutes from every where else one visits in Stratford (Shakespeare's House, School, RSC theatre, Bearpit) it's charming, well run and has thoughtful and charming hosts. The rooms (a three seater) was spacious and well appointed, with a surprisingly large en-suite. Cooked breakfast was included and freshly made by the owner (with generous portions), the front rooms got lots of natural light.

Our party of 4 arrived around midday and we were able to check in early which was a great start. Then we were presented with a parking permit free of charge to allow us to park in any of the nearby streets and parking bays. We also requested a bit of info on local pubs with and without “World Cup football “ and each one we went in was spot on for either quiet or not. We are also curry fanatics and asked for recommendations and we were told Balti kitchen which was another total success. We had two nights in a lovely warm room/ suite and each morning we were greeted with smiles and laughs and then filled up with lots of tea/coffee and a beautiful full English breakfast which arrived piping hot and very quickly with plenty of toast. We all a great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return in a flash. So Thanks to everyone at the Avoncot . Oh I must put a negative just to cheese Diana off so next time don’t forget my black pudding !
