Before writing this essay, I need to advise that, we had a commitment an hour after arriving, in Melbourne's CBD, otherwise we would have gone elsewhere immediately. When ringing for a booking and quote I was charges $110, $25 more than the cheapest, available online at a booking site (not know by us until I started to write this review. I was assured at the time it was the cheapest rate). We requested an early entry because of the early commitment in Melbourne and two separate beds, by Email following the telephone booking. On arrival, we were greeted by the manager/receptionist at a locked door, no bell to ring, a notice with phone numbers to ring adjacent to the door, he just happens to see us on the security camera, we paid up front $55 without sighting the room (big mistake) the first payment having been taken on credit card although he indicated payment would be required when we arrived. The so-called apartment (it was less an apartment than a single room, a bathroom with additions), was on the second floor. accessed only by narrow stairs Then the problems really commenced. 1) It started with the room being advertise as not smoking, on opening the door, it stank of cigarettes. The Cleaners after cleaning the room, had left the windows open, trusting the cigarette smell to clear, (they subsequently burnt an Aroma stick and put the ceiling fan on) to improve the smell. 2) The single bedding we requested was not in the room , ( see the picture shown on this page of the presentable room with two beds) The room had just one bed with one bath towel, a dirty tea towel, on approaching the manager (Who incidentally disappeared after issuing instructions to the cleaners, later I went to reception, to get a key to the room, the office was empty and the door locked), he asked the employee cleaners to make up the sofa for the extra bed (we were running out of time by now to make our appointment) so reluctantly we agreed, since there wasn't another room available. The cleaners had to move bed side table and lamp to access the bed number two. The cleaners were able to find fresh towels, without face washers. 3) There wasn’t a bar in the clothes cupboard to hang our clothes, we hung them on the door closing return fixture. 4) TV didn’t work, the cleaner tried to fix it, couldn't do so, it was stuck on one channel 44 in fact. Exposed wiring from the TV was just hanging down in open space, these were the power cord and arial wiring, any person could have handled them. 5) We left the cleaners to it fix up the room, after they gave us their room key, so we could get back into the room later that evening. 6) When we returned that night, we discovered that, following the placement of the furniture in another part of this ROOM, uncovered electrical wiring to the power point from where they had removed the furniture and reading lamp was exposed. 7) The toilet could not be accessed, without entering the shower recess, closing the door in toward you and squee
