St. Ives Holiday Village

We stayed in a Platinum Lodge with a hot tub. The surroundings were beautiful, lovely to hear all of the birds singing and watching the squirrels run around. We didn't really use the onsite facilities so can really comment on those we did have a wander around though and everything looked clean and nice. We did book swimming at 7pm the night before and had no problem booking at this time, we cancelled our session as the time was no longer suitable for us the next day and no slots were available for other times so do recommend booking at 7pm the night before via the app. I miss the days when you didn't have to plan everything that's a personal opinion and not a negative on the site. Our lodge was beautiful, the tv's weren't smart tvs, we took a now to stick with us so we could watch Netflix and the WiFi on site was great. I also like how you didn't feel rammed in with lots of space around you. It was a great base to explore from and only a short drive from the main town of St Ives , Penzance and 30 mins drive from Lands End. The staff we did speak to were all helpful. I would definitely return there.

This is the second time we’ve stayed here and both times it’s been a pleasure. The site is placed out of the way amongst peaceful and pleasant woodlands, with a swimming pool, outdoor tennis tables, a small park, and a woodland walk. The site is about 5-10 min drive to the beach (depending which one you want to go to) and there’s plenty of beaches in St Ives to walk along (even in windy/wet weather). It’s also only about 35 mins drive to the likes of St Michaels Mount, Minack Theatre, and some other fantastic days out. The first time we stayed in a gold lodge and it was in perfect condition. After staying in many a caravan/lodge, this one blew us away with the amount of storage and space! This time we stayed in the platinum 2-bed lodge with a Hot Tub and what a value for money! We did have a couple of teething issues but every time we spoke to someone they had a maintenance team within 30 mins - stellar service! The lodge was warm, well looked after, the hot tub wasn’t overlooked, and there was beyond enough space and storage for the four of us. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful - you really couldn’t ask for more (especially for what you pay). We’ve already booked again! Highly recommend.

Stayed here last week and had a 'gold standard' caravan with a hot tub. Arrived to holes in the wall above the radiator which my 2 year old got a splinter from. The palce was filthy. We found mould in the double bedroom cupboard. The decking was filthy and covered in water balloons and sand. I called head office and was advised to speak to the manager on site. Spoke to reception and was given a £35 voucher to spend on site. We were offered to move but it wouldn't have a hot tub, which was what we wanted, so we didn't move. I asked to speak to the general manager as I wasn't happy with the state of the caravan as a whole and Toby (who was very nice) took down my details for the manager to call me. He agreed it wasn't up to standard and apologised. No call was ever received from the manager. So after 3 days I went back to reception and spoke to Christine who told me that I shouldn't expect much from the caravan as it's 7 years old and there will be general wear and tear. I was told this was stated on their website (it wasn't) and that they do platinum and platinum plus and if I had booked this the standard would have been higher. I was told this was a cheap price due to being in St Ives, Parkdean charge more, and that they rely on guests to report faults. They had booked a replacement board for the one that had holes in it and that would take several weeks to come. When I told her I was dissapointed as I worked hard and paid £1000 for the week and expected a 'gold' standard caravan she said there was nothing she could do. When I told her my daughter hurt herself she gave us a further £145 refund which was appreciated. The head maintenance man Nigel was very friendly and very helpful and came over straight away to tape it up for us. This whole place is run down and needs renovating. The park was so old and run down. The swimming pool was also very run down. The toilets at the club were disgusting every night and often had broken seats and no toilet roll. The arcade isn't manned so when the machines didn't work (which was daily) we had to get someone from the bar staff to come help. On the plus side, The bar staff and entertainment staff were so lovely and friendly. If it wasn't for them we would have left. There were so many people complaining about the state of their caravan it was shocking. Won't be going here again
