The Dunvegan Hotel

Disappointing experience. Prices are just unreal, charged £3 for a can of coke. Appreciate that times are challenging and that costs have increased, but please. When enquiring the response was Icy and aggressive/defensive and I only asked what the price of a Guinness and a coke was. (£10 in total). Clearly is a destination spot for tourists, and clearly busy, but a reasonable price and friendly service would go down well. Avoid.

Iconic golfers pub in St Andrews with great atmosphere. Only 3 stars because of overpriced, average food. £17 for the worst steak pie I've probably ever had in a pub and when asked for coffee was told they only did black with milk on the side !! Come on, you can do better than that ..Overheard a few American visitors in the room very underwhelmed also ..Never used to be such a tourist trap that its obviously become ..👎

The location is perfect for walking Saint Andrews. The hotel is very quaint, and the staff is very accommodating. We went in February and the bar is busy. On season I imagine it is quite full. We had a double room which was very comfortable and bigger than I imagined for a UK boutique hotel. Very clean and had everything we needed. our room overlooked the alley where the beer kegs are delivered so we had some noise after the bar closed and when delivery was made but the personnel responsible were not talking or making any unnecessary noises other than what needs to be done to run the establishment. I only mention it because if you are a light sleeper or have issues falling back to sleep room 3 is not for you. I appreciated the fact that business was handled smoothly. We loved our room! It is at the bottom of the hill closest to the Old Course and so near great restaurants and Market Street and the beach!!!

Went to the Dunvegan pub, had a great meal and the staff was excellent, great atmosphere. Great place to relax and a pint (or 2+). Would definitely recommend the pubv for a relaxing and enjoyable time.

Visited here for a drink only, as heard it had a great atmosphere. We sat outside initially until it started to rain. What a disappointment inside , it wasn’t too busy which meant you could see the the place needs a freshen up and a good clean. The staff were unfriendly and looked bored, despite some tables needing cleared. Probably if it had been busy we wouldn’t have noticed any of this. We couldn’t wait to leave.

We've heard so many good things about this hotel. The food was good and OK priced but one of the staff was very rude and clearly didn't want to be there. Between trying to take our food order before giving us menus to banging down the tray with the condiments on our table and of the tables around us. When putting the cutlery down she put it down so hard it slid across the table hitting my wee ones hand, thankfully not injuring her. It's a shame really as the other girl serving was very polite and helpful. This hotel and bar is full of tourists, it's reputation is what keeps it busy. Its a shame this member of staff gives visitors this very poor service and let's it down for the other staff. Would I return? Probably because everyone deserves a second chance.
