It was a good stay with great ambience and service. The rooms are spacious and well kept. The porch is great in terms of view and cleanliness. Lunch/Dinner is provided on request. Food is good and home like. Place is better than in the pictures

This was my second visit to Chicago House Boat. As we had a wonderful experience on the first occasion, the expectations were high. Team Chicago did not disappoint at all. You are treated as a family member. We were traveling with a five year old child, who is quite choosy about what she eats. Khan Chacha was kind enough to make sure she always got what she liked. He specially made aaloo parathas for her in the breakfast. Nice location. So ***y nice restaurants in the vicinity. One must try STREAM which is just 500 mtrs from Ghat no 9. Room and washroom was clean as expected. There were few glitches with the electric sockets not working at times. Towels could have been been better, preferably white. An electric kettle in the room is always helpful. Ajaz Bhai is a nice gentle***. He arranged pickup from the airport. Also arranged a nice cab for local sightseeing. All in all it was a good experience. Everyone at the house boat was very courteous. Kashmiri people are genuinely very hospitable. One may feel they get a bit pushy for tips at times, but that's fine. They work very hard and one must tip generously. TIP: Book directly by contacting Ajaz Bhai to get best rates.

Brilliant is an understatement. The scenic views, the hospitality, the food were the best we have experienced .We were treated like family and not guests. We carry fond memories of our trip to Srinagar and especially the people. Look forward to visiting again soon

Chicago group of houseboats is a familiar name in my memory. Whenever my family or I have gone to Srinagar, we have always been hosted by them. Their warmth, hospitality and ability to make you feel happy and well taken care of, is unrivalled. To begin with, the aesthetics of the houseboats have a very rich and royal air about them. I had been traveling the whole day before reaching Srinagar, and was incredibly tired by the time I entered the houseboat in the late afternoon. And guess what? I was greeted with the most delicious maggi, cookies and kahva, all because I looked tired and famished. The food was so good! I was extremely touched by this gesture, which I soon noticed was a way of life over there. I was traveling by myself and was extremely well taken care of at the houseboat. My days were planned beautifully everyday by Ajaz uncle, greeted in the morning and seen off on my daily wanderings with an infectious smile by Mohammad uncle, well fed everyday to the point of bursting and kept cozily warm in my room by Hasna uncle, and had big smile on my face every night when I went to bed. I left behind a piece of my heart with them. Leaving to go back to mundane life was painful, with promises made to come back and see them again soon. I was truly at home, safe and sound, with three uncles who are like family. So anyone reading this, do stay with them. I can guarantee that you won't feel like going back. Tell them I said hi :) P.S. they make the world's best fried eggs. Do try.

Chicago Houseboat is one of the best places to stay in Kashmir. I've stayed here multiple times with my family and every time we have had the best of times. The houseboats located in the Golden Dal Lake which had the best view from their terrace and are very well maintained with all required facilities like AC, heater, bathtub, large and beautifully decorated rooms and everything else. The best thing about staying here is their staff, be it Gulzar Bhai or Khan Chacha, who take care of every request with a smile. The second best thing about staying here is the fresh and amazing food they cook and serve at dinner and breakfast and they always ask for your preferences everyday about whatever you would wish to eat. They even provided me taxis throughout my trip at the most reasonable rates. Last but not the least, the owner, Ajaz Bhai is the reliable and professional person who makes sure that your entire stay should be absolutely fantastic. I've recommended this place to my friends and family members too and everyone had an enjoyable stay with them.

I stayed here for a night in June - 2023 ***** with my family. The location os houseboat is good with a decent view. Not very clumsy. House boat also well maintained. The host Mr. Khan Chacha was warm and welcoming to us.

Chicago Houseboat is simply beautiful place to stay with family. The behaviour of the care taker is very nice. He is very humble and takes care of all the boarders. The food is awesome and home made. Overall it's a wonderful experience

If you want to feel like home away from home, this is your place. The entire Chicago team welcomed us in the most loving, warm, and comforting way possible. It's been wonderful to be here and it's been hard to leave. We felt like family, a special thanks to Khan for taking care of us like a relative we didn't know we had. ＜3 Apart from the comforting treat, the place is absolutely charming, with traditional Kashmiri decor, the heating system works well in winter and the food is excellent. They will be willing to help you with anything you need and always with a smile on their face. I only have kind words for these helpful and kind-hearted people. I recommend staying here 100%!

I had just visited Kashmir with family (wife, my 14 years old daughter and a friend) last week and to be honest i have no word to express my gratitude to Mr Ajaz who is the owner of the houseboat. In this trip i have actually understood that there are few good men like Ajaz bhai in this world who makes us believe that there is no bigger deed than hu***ity. I reached Srinagar on 11th Nov very early (around 730 in morning) and as scheduled i was supposed to check in to Chicago Houseboat (for 3 night stay in his best houseboat which also hosted Mrs Indra Gandhi in 1975). Ajaz bhai only arranged cab for the entire trip. However, the moment we boarded the cab, our driver ( Tariq Bhai, another humble and true gentle***) informed us that there was some problem that had happened in the houseboat a night before and we had to wait couple of hours before we could check in. As we all were very tired due to an early morning flight we were completely taken a back with such a unfolding of the situation. But to my surprize Ajaz bhai had already made an arrangement in an another hotel (Apple Orchard Resort). Later we got to know that there was a huge fire that broke last night which completely razed at least 5 houseboat which also included Ajaz bhai's entire house, Houseboat's kitchen and everything (at least loss of 1 cr to Ajaz bhai himself and 50Cr of loss all put together). Despite this huge catastrophe Ajaz bhai never let this affect our trip. We were put in Apple Orchard resort for two night with food and everything till all the facilities were restored in houseboat and then for the last night we were transferred to his HB. Even on that day he made us dine in Stream (one of the best restaurant in Srinagar- around Boulevard road). The houseboat was just amazing but the hospitality and care we were given no word is enough to thank him despite his own losses. A very very special mention to Tariq Bhai (our driver to entire trip) who took care of us like his own family, guided us till we checked in to Airport We as Chatterjee family can blindly recommend to everyone to Ajaz Bhai of Chicago Houseboat. The Houseboat is impeccable, Gulzar bhai was such a humble *** who took care of us on the last night (despite November cold Houseboat was better than even any 5 star comfort and that too when his all resources were razed to ground in fire) but above all Ajaz bhai's hospitality is something I had never ever felt in my life where as I had travelled across India and World. Ajaz Bahi,, May Almighty give you back everything that you had lost. My whole hearted thanks and gratitude to you
