Heritage Hotel 19

This is a lovely hotel, in a good location, just outside the old town. It's far enough away to escape the hustle and bustle of Split. Staff are absolutely lovely and breakfast was good quality with a variety of options available. Chocolate croissants yummy. We stayed in a ground floor room which had a huge shower and decent bathroom. The bedroom and bed were really comfy and the air conditioning excellent. Two small things could make things even better. (1) English TV was very limited, 2 news channels, an adult cartoon channel and one other. We like to watch a bit of TV before bed, and the news is so depressing these days that having some other options would have been good, Netflix maybe. (2) storage is quite limited. The old-fashioned wardrobe is hard to hang things in, maybe it was the clothes hangers themselves, they didn't quite fit. And there were no drawers, maybe the bedside tables could be replaced with small bedside cabinets with drawers. Other than that, we had a really nice stay. Be careful with mozzies, all over Dalmatian coast, little blighters

Lovely hotel. Great breakfast with the loveliest lady Antonia serving us. She made us feel most welcome. Would highly recommend staying here. Very clean and comfortable and nice and central for bars and restaurants. Thank you all at Heritage 19 x

Heritage Hotel 19 was wonderful! This is a small hotel just back a bit and up a very short walking hill from the main waterfront promenade. You walk through a gate and enter the small lobby and receive a very personal greeting. Our room was beautifully decorated with a small deck overlooking the walking street just below. Breakfast was excellent and served with a personal touch. It was a great stay for us and would be an excellent choice for your visit to Split!

Lovely little boutique hotel. Perfect location with easy access to nice restaurants and the old town & port. Lovely & quiet room. We had room 5 which had a small balcony. The only negative would be the room is dark and the bathroom is tiny but it was perfect for what we needed. The young lady on reception in the afternoon/evening is a credit to the hotel, she was really helpful with booking boat tours, and helping with ferry times and restaurants suggestions. The breakfast was also really good, I had the healthy bowl every day and my partner had the hot breakfast.

We wanted a very comfortable boutique hotel in a quiet location yet convenient for the Old Town. We had high expectations of this hotel and they were met in every respect. Our room was spacious, well equipped and had a balcony. The staff were all friendly, efficient and ready to help with any recommendations. Breakfast in the outdoor terrace was a great way to start the day. We would highly recommend staying here.

During my research for our trip to Split, I ruled out a lot of hotels, (despite good reviews), because of two issues important to my wife and I. First, taxi access into the old town is either difficult or impossible and we don’t like wheeling suitcases through narrow, ancient streets full of fellow tourists. Second, there were possible noise issues. We like taking a relaxing snooze after lunch - having a busy bar under your window could be a problem. However, thanks to TA we spotted Heritage Hotel 19 and it seemed to fit the bill - which it did admirably. Saying that, taxi's can't navigate the street on which the hotel is located but you are dropped off only a few steps away. The location is excellent. Close enough to all of Split's many amenities but far enough away to still be quiet. A few steps uphill is the excellent Bamba Terrace bar and at the bottom, what seemed to be Split's number one place to eat - Buffet Fife. We didn’t eat there because there always seemed to be a fairly substantial queue of potential customers. The hotel is on the road which is the start of the walk up to Marjan and those wonderful views of the city. If the location was good, the hotel itself was even better. Charismatic but modern, with our room, (#5), having every convenience you could wish for. The quality of the fixtures and fittings was impressive and in a week of thirty degrees plus temperatures - excellent aircon. I must mention the superb wifi. Not only fast but didn’t have the annoying requirement to re-enter a password every day. Let’s be clear, if you are looking for the kind of hotel that has a pool, spa, restaurant with pretensions and a loyalty scheme - it may not be for you. If you are looking for a charismatic “boutique” hotel with charm to spare - Heritage Hotel 19 will take some beating. If the room was impressive - it was the staff who stole the show. Paula, Maria and Anna-Maria (sorry if I spelled your names incorrectly) were rays of sunshine each day. No question went unanswered and their service at breakfast was superb. Speaking of breakfast, here's another plus point in favour of the hotel. The morning menu had something for everyone. My wife had the healthy muesli and fruit option almost every morning. My choices ranged from a simple croissant, to the delicious Dalmatian breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. All taken below a beautiful olive tree in the warm morning sunshine. Finally, there was only one point that could count against the hotel. It is a small boutique hotel after all and therefore has no elevator. The few stairs to our room presented no problems for two 70 year old guests but if you have mobility issues, there are two ground floor rooms you could opt for. I doubt we could have picked a better hotel for our week in the beautiful city of Split and cannot recommend Heritage Hotel 19 highly enough.
