Had 5 nights in one of the new cabins. The location of the park is fantastic. The cabin… not so much. It was clean and tidy. Keep in mind, these are not cheap at $273/night! I would not stay in one of these by choice again. When they call it tiny.. it is exactly that. Plus poorly designed. - No inside table. - Almost no kitchen bench. Nowhere inside to prep any food. - The gap between the open door and the bed was about 200mm, I kept hitting my shin on the corner of the bed frame which stuck out from the mattress. - Couldn’t use the cupboard or drawers next to the bed. Just not enough space to open them. - The mattress is a Bedra brand , costs under $200 from Bunnings. To whoever approved these… Shame on you. We bought two mattress toppers in nearby Kempsey, just so we could actually sleep on the bed. Two made it just tolerable. - Blinds on the main sliding door, kept catching on the door. Poor design choice. - Outdoor cooker wouldn’t work unless we ran an extension cord to another power point, (Nit picking - but at $273/night, it’s not budget accommodation and shouldn’t have to) No offence but at $273 per night, this cabin came nowhere near that value, not even half. As a comparison, plenty of the nearby apartments, adjacent and next to the pub are basically the same price, with better views… For the location we wanted to stay longer, however no other cabins were available, other than extending our stay in the “tiny cabin”, but no way were we willing to do that! So, yes by all means stay in South West Rocks, but don’t waste your money on one of the new cabins at Horseshoe Bay Park.
