Soar Mill Cove Hotel

The setting for the hotel is within half a mile of the South West Coastal Path at Soar Mill Cove and is absolutely stunning when the sun is out. It's still beautifully rugged looking when the sky is grey though. The hotel staff are very welcoming and hard working. The whole place was clean and the gardens around the site were beautiful and full of birds during our stay. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. If you enjoy coastal scenery and some peace and quiet, this is definitely a hotel worth visiting. Thank you very much for making our stay so pleasant.

We loved the hotel… our room The Hideaway was first rate… everything .. the balcony… milk in fridge… fab towels. Perfect position with an outstanding view and great walks. We were blessed with good amazing weather which was perfect given the hotels position by the sea and glorious walks. We will be back!

The staff are fantastic - friendly and really helpful and Willem went the extra mile to make us feel at home. There are really great facilities, the breakfast was very good and the really friendly staff even accommodated my carnivore diet needs without a fuss. Breakfast with the view out to sea was just beautiful, especially as we saw so many Red & Sika stags meandering around the hillside next to the hotel, whilst we ate our breakfast.. Not a cheap hotel, but actually fantastic value when you consider everything offered and the care taken to deliver a really great stay. Thanks for a lovely and relaxing stay.. Fred & Tamara Ps. Ignore the negative reviews about narrow roads and little things being outdated - nothing is perfect and hopefully these things will put other ****** off staying there and it will remain a lovely place without chavs ruining it for everyone else...

The most lovely little get away. We booked to stay at Soar Mill Cove Hotel as we had a pretty rubbish week. What a great decision that was. We had the most relaxing time away. The staff were all absolutely fabulous, they could not do enough to help us. The hotel is great and has amazing facilities. The views are ridiculously nice. It was a more then well needed night away and we will definitely be back.

We stayed overnight at Soar Mill Cove Hotel for our wedding anniversary. It was truly fab. The drive up to the hotel is beautiful and the view is absolutely divine. We stayed in a garden room. It was fairly private with a pleasant aspect. The room was very clean, with a small fridge, plenty of storage and a bath with shower head. The bed was very comfortable. Our 3 course evening meal was most enjoyable. The French onion soup was the best I've ever tasted. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend staying at this beautiful establishment.

We spent a much needed 3 night stay here in April 2022 (not September 2023) . The food was excellent. We loved the walk down to the cove and the location is great. We stayed in the Jenny Wren room, right opposite the lovely swimming pool. The room was very spacious. Salcombe is lovely, and I would highly recommend a trip to nearby National Trust owned Overbeck's Gardens and Agatha Christie's house, Greenway House, near Brixham, which you can also get to via a ferry from Dartmouth.
