We regularly visit the Hope and Anchor and booked recently ... even after seeing some of the latest reviews. Whether it is because we are known, or most probably our two Giant Schnauzers are better known, we had a great visit. I understand that service can be a personal thing and not to everyone's liking. But if you want a quick meal with previously prepared food, then maybe a different type of pub would be better! We took around 90 minutes to enjoy two freshly prepared courses. Something we wanted was not available, we chose something else, but if they stocked everything all of the time, the wastage would be huge and the price would go up even more. We paid over £100 for our two courses and drinks, with the dogs enjoying two portions of gourmet sausages at the same time. I know there is a populous that doesn't approve of dogs in pubs, but, they also have a restaurant serving the same menu which is dog free. Well behaved dogs (in the main) are not issues and can add to a great meal. A little more reference to canine acceptance, on their website might be educational? The staff are also happy to accommodate doggy requirements and water is available just inside the door in bowls. I think every establishment can have good and potentially bad days. On this occasion (as with most of them) everything was smooth and on time. I find the staff extremely approachable and also accommodating, So don't leave the pub with a bad taste and then leave a bad review, I find a sensible chat and the ability to let them sort it out (in whatever way) actually improves relationships, and repeat visitors. Their awards speak for themselves... keep up the good work guys
