Very friendly staff. Comfy bedroom if a little small. Dinner good. Excellent a**osphere. Pretty village. We stayed here after visiting Waddesdon Manor and were en route to Cheshire. We enjoyed a stroll round the pretty village the next day before moving on.

I really like it here and I had a third visit already. I loved the Sunday roast, I’ve had a fishfinger sandwich which is worth travelling for! The two gentlemen who have taken over the running of the place are doing a remarkable job . And it’s a proper country pub with a nice vibe and genuine sincere service.

Great to see an old village pub still surviving. Visited with friends from LA who were staying locally & had a great evening. Good pub food (the steak and ale pie was to die for.!!) and great service. The staff were welcoming and friendly - can’t fault the place - excellent 😊😊😊👍👍

I had to be at Bicester Heritage early in the morning (a 10-minute drive), so I stayed here the night before. It's under new management, although the excellent chef has been incumbent for a few years. The car park is small, but I arranged a space in advance. It's not secure parking because the car park is open, but Sourden is such a quiet village, I wasn't concerned. The room was very comfortable and well-equipped. I picked up that updates are planned, e.g. new beds, but mine was perfectly comfortable. The food is outstanding. I had the homemade steak and ale pie with seasonal vegetables and a lovely full English breakfast the next day. The management is very conscious about waste (food and bedroom consumables), which is refreshing.

Basic room but an exceptionally welcoming pub with a great a**osphere. Booked in last minute due to a car breakdown. The owners couldn’t do enough for us, a lovely meal in a proper village local. Hope to visit again on a planned basis and explore the local area.

Arrived without a reservation and 2 seconds later it was sorted on quite a busy night. The food menu was good and varied as was the food which arrived in a very timely fashion. Excellent tastes and very well presented and also was asked was everything ok which it was. Always like it when it is a natural enquiry rather than a timed event. The staff were superb especially the manager / owner. Extremely pleasant. Is definitely a great place - only small but woth the hunt.

Booked a table for three and had a lovely meal with really friendly service and helpful staff. The portion sizes were good and the meals were all very well made and very tasty. Two of us had pudding which was very good but we thought the churros should of come with a dipping sauce but thats not a slight on the pub its just our preference. Would definitely return for another meal

Most excellent Country pub serving meals. I booked a table for my friend and I on-line, not knowing what to expect. There was one real ale available, it was simply superb. My friend had the Venison and Pheasant Pie ( with a proper shortcrust lid on it ) and I had their Fish Platter, both were excellent. The Gents toilets are outside, buy we didn't see this as an issue. The ambience was quaint but very good, we declined the piped music and the star of the whole show was Hannah the barmaid, waitress and general factotum. A most agreeable experience.

Two visits in a week - excellent experience on each occasion. Well run front of house and clearly a good chef running the kitchen. It’s good to see a local pub so well run. Was busy so good support from surrounding areas. Hope to be back very-soon !
