The Fox Inn

We stayed here for the night, really friendly staff who cannot do enough for you. Pub is clearly very popular with locals but we enjoyed the well cooked food. Room basic but clean and quiet. Minor quibbles would be to have a different lager on draught and baked beans for breakfast! Thank you.

You must go to this great traditional british pub,great beer super food and great partnership of Johnny and Paul. This is an 18th century Public House, we must support pub like this we MUST not lose them . We look forward to our next visit Chris & Moira 16th October 2024

Came to The Fox for lunch with friends, we chose the pub as it was central for all parties as we were coming from the East and our friends were arriving from the West and Souldern was in the middle!! What a lovely village of sandstone houses and at the centre sits the Fox. There is little parking at the pub, however, the adjacent road is safe and has little traffic. We booked a table and I am pleased we did as the place is very popular and I think we would have had trouble getting a table if we hadn’t booked. The menu is not excessive; however, the content is mouthwatering. All four of us had different courses ranging from the lamb, pork, burger and the chicken and bacon salad. There were no complaints and the food was freshly prepared, well presented and tasty. The pub has a really nice ambiance and is bright and airy. The host is very approachable, social and keeps a fine hostelry with good hospitality. I would fully recommend the Fox and if you are in the area, give it a try.

A superb dining experience in a beautiful country pub, will be returning very soon. A very cosy and relaxing atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff making you feel right at home. Conveniently located in Oxfordshire, in the sleepy village of Souldern.

Very friendly staff. Comfy bedroom if a little small. Dinner good. Excellent atmosphere. Pretty village. We stayed here after visiting Waddesdon Manor and were en route to Cheshire. We enjoyed a stroll round the pretty village the next day before moving on.

I really like it here and I had a third visit already. I loved the Sunday roast, I’ve had a fishfinger sandwich which is worth travelling for! The two gentlemen who have taken over the running of the place are doing a remarkable job . And it’s a proper country pub with a nice vibe and genuine sincere service.
