Le Pavillon Saint-Martin

Lovely location in the square. Car parking nearby, with a garage where we’re allowed to put our bicycles. No dinner available at the hotel, but plenty of options available nearby. In the morning we had the best breakfast that we experienced on our journey.

I was in a room on the second floor facing the town square and my daughter was a half level down overlooking the Church. The rooms were a good size and we both had an ensuite. Unfortunately there are no cars allowed into the small square, so our car had to be parked in the street behind, adjacent to the Church. We were lucky as it was June and the weather was fine, but would not have been convenient had it been wet/cold. It didn't appear to be a very big town and there was not much open but there was a restaurant opposite where we had a nice meal. We did find another restaurant nearby the following night for a light meal. We ate breakfast downstairs at the hotel both days and although not a great number of choices, it was adequate. A walk in the evening indicated that it is a very quiet town.

Le Pavillon Saint Martin is a charming hotel in a historic building in the center of Souillac. The location is perfect for visiting such places as Lascaux, Rocamadour and Gouffre de Padirac. The breakfast had plenty of choices. There is a small lift, so you don't have to carry your luggage upstairs. The bed was comfortable. The room was spacious. The only disappointment is the room and decor were a tad tired and could use some refreshing.

This hotel is in a beautiful old building in the place Saint Martin in the centre of Souillac. Very friendly, helpful, informative member of staff who welcomes you on arrival. Large bedroom with en suite and comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and varied. Quiet. Please be aware that if you arrive on a Monday evening all the town is closed and dining out difficult. Other nights were Ok but not a huge choice. Parking available. Ideal situation from which to explore the Dordogne.

We were in Souillac for a friends wedding at a nearby chateau and found this lovely hotel for our week long visit. The hotel is located centrally in a little quaint square, we had lovely views of the street from our room. Check in was good and Benjamin did his best to communicate with us as we have very limited French language. There was an odd smell sometimes up the stairs, no idea what it was but worth mentioning. We had a twin room which was small but suited our needs. I would recommend they switch out the round table in the corner for a smaller rectangular table to give more space. Also the floor length mirror was inside a wardrobe door that couldn’t be opened fully due to a bedside table. Those are not criticisms just something to think about for future to make the room more useable. We had breakfast on the first day just because we didn’t know the area, it was good but felt €12 each was a little steep. Hotel felt very secure as the main doors were locked at night and you used a code to get in. WiFi was good. All in all it was a great stay and would recommend to friends and family. Just a note on the area… we went in April and it was very quiet!! The bar next door is great but only opened Wednesday to Saturday. A lot of the other restaurants opened for odd hours on random days. Some would only serve drinks with food. Made it quite difficult at times as we would have had a meal during the day and only wanted a couple of drinks. It’s a lovely little town with a market on a Friday which is right outside the hotel. I’m sure in the summer months it’s buzzing with life!

One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in!! Delightful lady in reception, so friendly and welcoming. Clean and airy bedroom with excellent facilities. Centrally located. Delicious and well presented breakfast.
