Hotel Bristol

This was a perfect holiday from start to finish. The staff are so friendly and attentive- they really make you feel welcome and at home! We arrived late on a Friday evening (around 10pm local time) and the staff had kept the dining room open and prepared food for us- which was a lovely gesture. The views were spectacular from our balcony (room 387) and the rooms are immaculate in terms of cleanliness. The mini bar in the rooms are well stocked and the pool bar offers a wide range of drinks and light meals. We were on a half board package and found the food to be of an excellent standard. The breakfast options were expansive and you can order eggs and omelettes which the chef cooks on demand. The evening meals were fantastic including a choice of starters, mains and desserts which changed every day. If you choose to have an evening meal elsewhere, you are able to swap to having lunch which is also great. The pool area is clean and has fantastic views across the bay to Vesuvius. The staff in the pool area are always keen to help- helping to find sunloungers or umbrellas for when you might want shade. The hotel is well situated with a small general shop less than a 5 minute walk away. The centre of Sorrento is only a 10 minute walk away. If you want to walk down to the marina it takes about 15 minutes. A major positive of this hotel above other hotels in the area is the staff. They go above and beyond and really make this place an exceptional choice. Every aspect of our stay was amazing and we look forward to returning!

Thankfully during our 10 Italy trip, 5 of our days were here. We moved to Ischia for our last 2 days. We should have taken a day trip to Ischia and stayed here instead. If you are looking for an American friendly hotel, this is your place. We didn't encounter any rude staff or servers. It is a great location where you can walk to restaurants, but we ended up eating here all but one night because the food was so good. And let me tell you, we stayed at 4 different hotels during our stay and NONE of them had a breakfast buffet or service like they did. Guiseppe and Gianluca took good care of us at the restaurant. One our first night there, in the bar they had this amazing singer and piano player. I felt like I was listening to a professional singer. The pool area is a nice place to unwind after a busy day of excursions too. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially room 707....wow what an amazing view! Oh and we got surprise fireworks we got to watch from our balcony on one of our nights.

Excellent stay for our August holiday. Views from our room were spectacular, views over the bay. We were half board and loads of option at breakfast and dinner. Staff were so friendly and attentive at all times, big thank you to Giuseppe and team. Would highly recommended hotel.

What to say when something is perfect!!! We stayed in this hotel nine years ago so we returned this year for a special celebration. Right from the booking direct with the hotel to leaving in one of their transfers on our seventh day it was amazing. We had this hotel organise our transfers to and from Naples train station, drivers were excellent, very pleasant to travel with. The staff in every department are so welcoming, the doorman, the managers, the restaurant staff, the bar staff, the pool staff and anyone else you come across. This is first class service. We also had assistance in organising two day trips from the hotel, we were picked up and returned each day. It is an easy walk down into Sorrento town area, heaps of restaurants and great shops. The scenery is amazing in every direction. Our room was perfect, we had a big room facing the ocean, had a big balcony with breath-taking views, huge bathroom, sofa and so much space. Our stay was a special occasion and yes it was more expensive than we would normally pay but OMG it was worth it. Breakfast alone is amazing, the staff are just brilliant, nothing is too much trouble. If I could I would return here in heart beat..

We stayed at Hotel Bristol for 10 days in July and overall had a great time. The hotel was in a perfect location, overlooking most of Sorrento, and the views from our balcony were unreal! Probably the best views we’ve had from anywhere we’ve previously stayed. It was a short 10 minute walk into the town centre, or just under 20 minutes to the marina down below, where there were plenty of restaurants. We couldn’t fault the service at Hotel Bristol, from the moment we got there until we left, everyone was friendly and attentive and always happy to help. The food was a much better quality than I was expecting, with the choice of starters, mains and deserts. Every meal we ate here was really nice, although after a week the menu did get a little samey but we wanted to eat out in Sorrento for a few nights to try the local food which was also fantastic. The pool area was nice and also had lovely views of the area, but we did find the sun beds to be a bit uncomfortable after spending a few hours on them. The only real downside was the noise in the hotel. We were given a room on the 6th floor, which meant we benefited from even better views, however we soon realised that we were located directly below the 7th floor restaurant which served breakfast too. We were woken up everyday from around 6:15am where the servers were setting up, and the noise would continue until breakfast finished. The walls were also quite thin so you could hear other guests either side of you but that wasn’t too much of a bother. Having said that, it wouldn’t stop us from returning as we did have a great time and couldn’t fault the staff. We would just request a room on a floor maybe lower down.

The Hotel Bristol (Sorrento) is a wonderful hotel filled with real character, superb views across the town and the Bay of Naples. We stayed on the 6th floor with a bay-facing room with balcony. The room was spacious, with modern facilities including tv, fridge, plenty of charging points and iphone charging sockets. There was good wifi throughout. The hotel was about 8-10 mins walk to the town down/up a hill. Top tips: 1. I have seen several reviews saying that the rooms are very light through the night because there are no curtains. ROOMS HAVE ELECTRONIC WINDOW SHUTTERS you just need to find the button on the wall that operates your window shutter. 2. If you are half board tell the staff in the breakfast room each morning whether you are having lunch or dinner as your free option. 3. I am fairly fit and the hotel does have lifts, however I’m not sure the 7th floor and pool area are truly ‘accessible’ if you are immobile or wheelchair bound. Plus the hotel is located on a hill on a busy road so be prepared to walk! 4. Pool towels are 1.5 Euros per day per towel. I don’t agree with this charging and I would prefer the hotel to just subsume a charge into the overall accommodation cost. 5. I used the in-hotel laundry service which was very good, however, NOTE: THE LAUNDRY SERVICE IS CLOSED AT WEEKENDS. 6. The hotel provides iron / ironing board on request to reception. 7. BEWARE OF THE FOOT BATH next to the main swimming pool. Several people nearly fell over walking by it and tripping-up on the levels difference. It’s a trip hazard and needs a warning sign or different coloured tiles. There is a children’s play area on ground owned by the hotel across a track together with wild gardens but again not for the immobile. The breakfasts and lunches we had were very good with a chef to cook eggs or make omelettes. I thought the choice of food was perfectly good and the breakfast room beautiful with stunning views. There is an evening bar and lounge on the 7th floor again with stunning views towards Vesuvius. Personally, I found all the staff to be hard-working, helpful, friendly, and their English was far better than my Italian. So zero complaints from me! Overall, I was extremely happy with this very good hotel. I would definitely return to the Hotel Bristol and I highly recommend it.

We stayed here for a week in July and had a lovely time. The hotel is perched on a hill overlooking Sorrento town and is around a 10 minute walk down a busy road to reach the centre. The views are outstanding. We have previously visited the hotel next door to the Bristol- the Minerva, the Bristol is in my opinion better as the rooms are more spacious and modern. We stayed in room 610 which had a fabulous view over the bay, the only slight issue with this floor is it is below the restaurant so at 7am you do hear chairs scraping etc. Also the shower can make a terrible noise so you have to play around with it a bit (I believe this is the same in all rooms as we heard it). Other than that the room was spacious and clean and if you are an early riser then the noise won’t annoy you. One point to note, the rooms have mesh curtains, if you want full blackout you need to put the shutter down, the button to do this can be found on the wall next to the patio door or next to the bed. We ate at the hotel for breakfast and lunch and swapped the half board evening meal to lunchtime so we could eat out in the evening. This is a great option to have, however, the system to do this is a bit of a pain, you need to let the maitre d know at breakfast of your intentions, you should be able to turn up and tell them, which is what happens in other hotels (we did this recently at an Iberostar in Ibiza). The food was of a good standard with plenty of choice. The pool area is right at the top of the hotel, the pool is very deep and I wouldn’t say that it’s very child friendly. There are lots of sun loungers but while we were there, people were reserving them and then going off for hours- management should put a 1-1.5 hour rule in place to give everyone a chance. What is most annoying is the charge for pool towels, this should be scrapped and built into their pricing. Most of the pool area gets shade by 3pm so if you are after sun then get out early! I disagree with other reviewers that this should be a five star hotel, it quite rightly sits in the 4 star bracket and would need some investment to bring it to 5 star standards. Overall we had a great stay and the staff provided excellent service so we would return when coming to Sorrento next time.

We booked our stay to Sorrento and Hotel Bristol with Topflight. The Topflight team and Hotel Bristol were excellent. The hotel is extremely well maintained, spotless and has some very nice period features. The staff were very professional and helpful. I would especially have very high praise for Luca and his team in the restaurants. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples and the view was stunning. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the town centre. Have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Bristol and will hopefully return in the future!

We went to celebrate my 'big' birthday in April. I chose this hotel because of the amazing reviews and I was so glad I did. We got the train from Naples to sorrento and then taxi from train station to the hotel. On return journey we got a bus that you can book online and will collect you directly outside the hotel, much easier, same price. The hotel is located a short walk outside the town, not much of a hill, Excellent location as you still have the most amazing views without the struggle of a steep climb. When we arrived we were shown to our room which to be honest blew me away, I can't say I have ever seen a view that actually looked better in real life than the pictures online. We had a balcony that ran the length of our room which allowed us the most amazing view of Mount vesuvius and sorrento. The hotel is truly beautiful, it has an old world charm, although our room was very modern. There are lots of nooks and crannies, places to sit, read, look out at the view. There is a beautiful solarium and pool on the roof. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the pool as the weather was a little cool. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful, they make you feel like you are their most important guest. Breakfast gorgeous, great selection of hot/ cold foods. We went on an excursion which included amalfi and positano by boat, spent 2 hours in each town , again gorgeous, but little piece of advice, bring something warm to wear if sitting upstairs on boat, it can be very cold (April). We didn't eat dinner in this hotel but the beautiful Rosa on reception recommended a wonderful family run seafood restaurant which we loved. There is a bus stop directly outside the hotel which will take you along the coast to the next village, bus prices very cheap, €3.50 for 2 of us compared to approx €40 for taxi. Will definitely return to this amazing place.
