Grupotel Playa Club

Lovely hotel for families. Good food, location and decent sized rooms. It's the staff who really make this a special place though, they were all amazing. Only suggestion is it would be great if the mini club had more organised daytime activities.

What a beautiful aparthotel. We had a one bedroom apartment overlooking the pool. Beds comfortable. Aircon free. Just perfect with all you need.Booked B &B. Staff were so helpful . Excellent buffet selection.....chef also cooks fresh omelette, pancakes, fried eggs etc. Great bar/ food by the pool. We also paid for evening buffet...€22 each....spoilt for choice. Great wine too. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. Rooms cleaned daily....place spotless. Good pool area for small children and entertainment for them was arranged. Not recommended for older children. ...little for them. We went with friends. (Age 58 -60) Staff also arranged a birthday cake for my husband...such a lovely surprise. Occasionally children/ babies crying or shouting but did not spoil our time relaxing by the pool. Plenty of sun beds away from children's end of pool area....nearer the bar too. Recommend the Mojitos. Small rocky cove with a few nice bars/ restaurants within 5 minutes walk and supermarket to stock your fridge. Further 15-20 min to centre and beautiful harbour with a great selection of bars/restaurants and beach. Try the cheap local buses to visit other areas especially Ciutadella. I cannot say anything bad about this hotel. Great value.

Helpful and friendly staff, great place with beautiful green area, family climate, spacious room, nice view, good local food with the fresh meat and fish, close to the beach and night life in the centre of the city.i recommend for the people who want to stay calm without animations everyday.

Pros - -Outdoor areas very well upkept and clean -quiet area -breakfast buffet ample and tasty -very clean rooms -cleaners came everyday (option to decline if wished each day) which they would provide fresh towels and toilet roll -restaurant large and staff very attentive -small supermarkets within a 5-10 minute walk -large pool and large amounts of Sun loungers and umbrellas (no fights for loungers) cons- -Breakfast - coffee machines very slow and not great tasting -When had dinner buffet one evening a few of us found some members of the cooking team could not speak or understand English? So cooking food to order which they did for the meats was very difficult - ended up with incorrect meats etc -air conditioning isn’t the best and the dial doesn’t seem to change anything

Good hotel in a secluded spot, easy to get to the beach and the local restaurants and bars. The staff are really good, very friendly and helpful. We stayed bed and breakfast. The buffet style breakfasts were excellent, plenty of choice, catering for all tastes. The rooms were all duplex style with living room and small kitchen area, bathroom and bedroom. Plenty of space for a couple or small family. Would we go back? Yes I think we would.

We were there in September with our two year old and had a wonderful week. Located near a lovely small sandy beach with a few supermarkets and restaurants all less than five minutes walk away. You'll find everything you need within walking distance if you're not up for exploring (we kept it simple). Our apartment backed on to a lovely grassy area, with a small balcony which was private enough to sit out on in peace. The grounds are kept beautifully with the names of plants and trees tagged all around the site. Towards the back of the grounds there is a kids play and some sandy ground with football nets area that could do with a facelift but that's a minor detail. There are two swimming pools, both impeccably clean with plenty of sunbeds to go round. There is a pool bar too with ice creams and generous measures of quality spirits on offer as well as a dining area. The kids club and small play area are situated at the back of the pool area along with boxes full of toys to use in the swimming pool which turned out very handy. What really stood out for us all week were the on-site staff.. everyone from the reception, the cleaners, the serving staff in the food area.. every single one of them were warm, genuine and helpful (and very hard working). Such a credit to the hotel. The apartment itself was very clean and had everything you need - comfortable beds, plenty of space and storage. TV in bedroom and living area (although could have done with more English channels), small kitchen and dining table... Cleaned every day with fresh new towels if needed. I wasn't a fan of the floor tiles but again small details! We only did the bed and breakfast option, breakfast was brilliant. Everything you could possibly imagine on offer every morning, including local Menorcan sausage and cheeses. There were freshly made eggs, omelette and pancakes, nuts, fruits, yogurts fresh coffee all kinds of pastries and breads.. basically everything! The coffee was served via a bean to cup machine, there were three in total and maybe could do with one more to alleviate queues at busy times. Also, the labelling on some food items could have been better but overall a fantastic breakfast awaits you every morning. Kids club in the evening was good and there were other shows available too.. perfect to keep the little ones happy before bed and allow the parents to have a drink. A couple of other points of interest: At least one hour from airport depending on how many stops the coach makes. Predominantly German resort at least while we were there but that is a positive if you ask me! Be prepared for mosquitoes! All on all a great week with great memories.. we highly recommend Gropotel Playa club and hope to be back again next year.

The hotel was excelent in almost every department. We were B&B and the breakfast was really good, as was the service. The pool was lovely. We were down at some point every day and never failed to get a bed. There was no reserving beds with towels. The rooms were spacious and well cleaned. Bathrooms were large though decor was showing signs of age. The hotel was in a lovely area only 15/20 minutes walk into the centre where most restaurants were, around the Marina. Staff were very good. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. We will return!

This was our second visit and it was very much as expected. The staff our very friendly and attentive. It is disabled friendly and one advantage going this time of year (mid September) is that there are sun loungers aplenty, indeed most days there were more empty beds than occupied. The food is pretty standard and there is usually plenty of choice. The location of the hotel is quite a walk from the marina (shops and restaurants) but there are local supermarkets and a few restaurants a short walk away. The only gripe is that the request that ‘gentlemen are requested to wear trousers in the restaurant in the evening’ is ignored and nobody is challenged. Now I know people come on holiday to relax and I am not expecting full suit and tie but surely putting on a pair of trousers is not a hardship is it? Similarly the women in the evening seem to vary between smart and dressing up and those who appear to have come straight from the pool! The rooms (twin bedroom) are fine and have a few facilities in them including a fridge for storing drinks etc. overall though there are few signs that the hotel/rooms could do with a bit of a facelift. We didn’t take part in any of the evening shows so cannot comment on the quality, the daily activities were organised well (water aerobics etc) and the lifeguard is very helpful around the pool. The pool bar provides a good range of snacks and service is good. I do not know what the hotel is like peak season but a September visit (both visits have been at this time) will give you a relaxing time and the reception team are very helpful regarding any queries. Pool towers are 10€ each but this is refundable and they can be changed if you need to at no extra cost, safe deposit fee is 5€. Would we stay again, yes sometime in the future. Would I recommend it, well the review should hopefully give you a balanced opinion.

The room was spacious, with bedroom, living area, kitchen area, and terrace; it was clean and well looked after. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool area was great, it was quiet, sizeable pool for the amount of guests, peaceful space to relax by the pool with good snack bar food for lunch. Sadly we found a cockroach in our room on the last day. I live in Spain and know that it’s a Spain problem and doesn’t necessarily reflect cleanness of the space but this should be addressed.
