This was my second visit to Anel, both times on business. What stands out is its interesting art and large rooms which are well appointed. The hotel isn’t spotless, but is clean and despite being situated on the main road is quiet. Breakfast is fine with several cold and hot options. Staff were ok, professional, no frills. Would recommend for someone looking for a comfortable stay in this part of Sofia.

Женщины, работающие на ресепшене не имеют никаких профессиональных навыках работы с клиентами. Вход в бассейн-платный.

I chose this hotel because the service includes swimming-pool and fitness room. I come here since 2017 twice a year. Yesterday evening, after my flight, I wanted to go swimming and doing sport, and... "extra charge, new rule since January !". I asked to discuss with the manager. They did not inform the customers before changing the rule. Nothing is written in the room (all documents are the same since a long time). They do not respect the customer loyalty, because for them, customer = benefit and nothing else. No customer service. Conclusion: If you want to go swimming or doing sport during your trip in Sofia, don't go in ANEL Hotel. You have to pay additional charges and your loyalty means nothing for them.

Definitely not 5 star quality or service. i can get over the eccentric decor, but the rooms are a bit tired and falling apart in places. The door handles were loose and even fell off on more than 1 door. There was a piece of wood with nails sticking out hanging off the bathroom door and it was like that the entire time we were there, the maids must have noticed it. glasses and cups were dirty and cracked. we tried to leave them. out for the maids to take away but they just reappeared in the original position. after complaining, i found out they just wash them in the sink. we didnt use the bath as there was a broken metal drain cover that looked kind of sharp and dangerous. the only tea bags in the room were herbal so i phoned down for some black tea thinking a 5 star hotel could supply some, they transferred me to the bar and the woman was rude and hung up on me. speaking of the bar, i never saw it open at any time in my stay. hotel smelled of smoke because of the ****** downstairs. location of hotel isn't bad but its not great either, being out of the centre and not in the best neighbourhood. Pool was ok but they charged to use the steam room and sauna, and are going to charge to use the gym and pool soon. Whats the point in the hotel having these facilities and charging guests extra? Breakfast was pretty good with decent scrambled egg and nice cheese, meats, coffee and juices

The distinctiveness of Angel is the art work displayed throughout the hotel. In my brief stay I had the chance to enjoy some of the paintings and sculptures. There a ****** onsite where smoking is clearly permitted. The breakfast is ample both in choice and quantity. Good location.

Muy buena ubicación, las instalaciones del hotel estupendas y la limpieza de 10. Por poner alguna pega, el agua de la piscina cubierta estaba un poco fresca, aunque para nadar estaba bien.

Sadly, I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Overall it was a disappointing experience. We stayed at the end of October and it was unseasonally warm at 25 degrees celcius outside. The temperature in our room showed 31 degrees on our thermometer. We asked reception why the air con wasn’t working and was told that it was now the winter season and guests were not allowed to choose the temperature in their room as the air con was switched off. We were only allowed to choose to have the heating on in an already boiling hot room. We had a very uncomfortable stay in the room as it was so hot therefore. The window only opens about two inches so we could get no air/draft in the room as it opens at the top. On day one we went to use the pool and were told by the awful lady who manages it to leave as there was water aerobics on. On day two, having been told the pool opens at 9am we arrived to be told we could not use the pool as there was again water aerobics, and to come back at 11am. We were then told we could not use the pool as men (one is bald) must use a swimming cap. We didn’t pack a swimming cap, and all have short hair. In the end we didn’t bother using the pool, as the woman who manages it was so rude and thought she owned the pool. The pillows in the room are like tissue paper, we had back ache despite using two pillows each. Although not in the hotels control, if you stay on the side street of the hotel there is a dog that barks day and night. The rooms are a good size and the location is good, these are the only pluses. The staff need to be retrained, a smile never goes amiss, treat guests like guests. The staff make the hotel Anel somewhere I would never stay again.

Booked to stay here for 5 days through BA holidays. We had a good size room and it was close for the city centre. Staff were relatively nice but abrupt. Everyone smokes everywhere which is not great. The pool/spa staff were extremely rude and didn’t get to swim as a result of it. The rooms were very hot which made it very unpleasant, coupled with paper thin pillows and no aircon. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It’s a two thumbs down from me

the rooms are dirty and not cleaned. Hotel is in old condition and full of cigarette smoke from the ******. staff is unfriendly. definitely not worth 5 stars

Hotel hat eine sehr gute zentrale Lage. Es liegt nur ein Katzensprung von der nächsten Metro-Station entfernt. Die Metro bringt Dich in nur 20 Min. vom und zum Flughafen für lediglich ca. 80 Cent …. Hotspots sind fußläufig oder per ÖPNV erreichbar.

The room was large, comfortable, very modern and truly luxurious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The center of the city is in walking distance. Breakfast was excellent with a big variety of bakery and fruits. I really enjoyed the artwork in the hotel. Everything looks very classy. Thank you!

The hotel is very curiously decorated which l liked. It has lots of wonderful art! The bed is comfy and the breakfast is good - not the greatest selection but there is something for everyone, this hotel is in a great location. However there were a number of disappointing things in our stay. We booked a deluxe suite and it very much fell short. Unfortunately we were not helped with these issues. - The Jacuzzi bath tub periodically started up on its own, loudly blowing air from the jets and making a horrible smell in the room for 3.5 minutes at a time. This woke us up a lot in the middle of the night. Reception told us this was just from a roof unit and wouldn't happen again (it happened twice a day every day of our stay. I have video proof and I am happy to send it to management.) - A sink in the bathroom was broken and both showers leaked water all over the floor. One was a literal leak, the other because there wasn't a sufficient shower screen to stop the water going everywhere. - The aircon didn't work, basically just moved the air around but didn't cool the room so it was uncomfortably warm at times. - the pool and gym is complimentary to guests but spa facilities (e.g. sauna) incurred an extra fee, this is unusual for a 'five star hotel'... stingy. The pool didn't seem clean, there were used plasters on the windsills.. the hot tub was not working and filthy. Considering there was also chunks out of the wall and what looked like a hole in the bathroom door too... not quite deluxe really!
