Best Western Smithfield Inn

From the first interaction with Amber at the front desk, we were very pleased with our stay. loved the new rooms, nice hooks in the bathroom, soap dish which no one seems to provide anymore. Large TV which we did not use. Best coffee I have ever had in a hotel. Top rating for me. Thank you.

Do not stay here while they are renovating. It's not just small renovations. It's a construction zone!! Horrible stay, I was told less than a week before our stay that because of renovations, that breakfast wouldn't be served. I should've been notified much earlier. The manager would only give a 15% discount for the "inconvenience." I've stayed at many hotels while they are renovating but this was more like a construction zone as soon as you walked in the lobby. If I had ANY idea it would be like that, I would have canceled but at no point in my calls or on the website was there any indication that it would be a construction zone. There was a strong smell of paint and also sawdust. If you deal with any kind of breathing issues, don't even walk in the lobby as it could be dangerous. I got in late with my children and we were awakened in the morning by at least 8am, by hammering, sawing, construction workers tromping around, etc.... Again, I was NEVER informed that this would be going on during our stay to where it would disturb us. This hotel should absolutely be closed at this extent of construction and no one should have to pay money to stay there. There door to the room had to be forcibly closed as it was not put in correctly. Extremely disappointed and I will not be staying there again since it seems the same management is staying on and clearly cares more about money than the customer.

Although the hotel is undergoing renovations, it was very clean. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The staff was very pleasant! And as always, a great variety for a full self- serve breakfast (and really good coffee)! My hotel of choice for sure.

Room was clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. They are doing renovations so unfortunately the pool and exercise facilities were not available. They are making changes to convert to a Hilton hotel. The hot breakfast was good but I heard this will be changing to a grab and go breakfast.

Only stayed for one night for a baseball tournament. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were exceptionally clean and newly updated. Breakfast was very good. Would definitely stay here again. Wish we had had time to enjoy the pool. Very convenient location for food and shopping.

Even with the current remodeling happening, this place is still a great place to visit. I appreciate the fact they are willing to improve their surroundings, so it improves my stay. Chris, at the front desk is a wonderful person. Great personality and very hospitable. Lookin forward to future visits.
