Here with OAT travel 2 nights,we were the sole guests. Fun experience, dined here one evening as a group also. First hotel ever in Europe where the room safe is on an upper shelf easy to see and reach and with easy printed directions! Owner Pavel is a bit formal but has a sweet manner about him and is rightfully proud of his place. …and his wine collection. Slavenice is quiet and with about 3000 residents, much 20th century history.

Our tour group stayed here two nights taking up all the rooms. We got lucky in the room assignment this time and got the top room, 111. It was a huge room with small kitchen, big tv, table and chairs. Coffee service was refilled every day. Separate shower and commode room. It was nice having a walk in shower instead of a tub to climb in! Elevator only goes to 2nd floor so there is some stairs to climb to this room. The owner has a cellar/cave filled with wine. Our group had a wine tasting in the cave with the wines presented by him. Breakfast was small, but adequate with some tasty homemade pastries. Last night we got a special dinner and local musicians entertained us. Some of us helped with the meal prep so lots of fun.

Mr Paul is the owner, a lovely gentlemanly man with an air of elegance and a deep commitment to providing quality accommodations, delicious food, outstanding service AND the most fabulous wine cellar under his hotel...a 16th Century wine cellar stocked with every imaginable wines from nearby vineyards. A definite highlight. He also owns another restaurant nearby which was also delightful.

This place is so quiet and peaceful. My room was large and comfortable. An included kitchenette made a big difference in my stay, what a plus! Everyone was friendly and accommodating, especially, the couple who manage this place.
