Sitges Royal Rooms

Zur Familie gehört auch ein riesiger Hund. Jedes Mal wenn man das Hotel betritt wird man von diesem „überfallen“ und angebellt. Das hat mich sehr gestört! Das Zimmer war nachts sehr kalt (im Januar) und am Bett gab es keine Leselampe. Man übernachtet hier in einer dieser typischen Villen in Sitges und fühlt sich wie im Museum. Es ist fast schon ein bißchen zu viel. Wer diesen morbiden Charme mag ist hier richtig.

Arrived in the Sitges Royal Rooms in late February 2024 for a five day mini break with my partner. The hotel is less than five minutes walk from the railway station, we chose to buy a 3 zone T-Familiar transport card from BCN airport railway station for £28 which gave us two return journeys from Barcelona Zone 1 to Sitges. This was a very relaxing, stress free way to travel down the coast from Barcelona and in only half an hour. Check in consisted of a brief tour and history of the hotel, payment of the tourist tax (payable directly in cash to the hotel, mandatory in Catalonia) and being shown to our room. We had reserved the room "Carmen" (all the rooms are named after operas) which was spacious, clean and had a large private terrace for us to lounge in giving us some comfortable extra space. The bathroom and fittings were good quality and contained a large shower cubicle with lots of piping hot water available. We would have liked to have a drink in the garden bar which is closed at this time of year, the garden looked wonderful, but this is only a small gripe, there were lots of local places to drink. Cleaning throughout the stay was impeccable. Our hosts were true gentlemen who couldn't do enough for us to ensure we enjoyed our stay, offering advice on where to eat and places to go. We would definitely like to stay at this hotel again when we're next in the area. It's proximity to the hustle and bustle of downtown Barcelona and Tarragona makes it an excellent base for exploring the area. Sitges itself is a wonderful seaside village with a beautiful old town, modern beachfront and many independent shops and eateries, it is in fact a food lovers paradise! Sitges is also very LGBTQ+ friendly and a great family destination with locals being tolerant and respectful to all, was great to witness. There are also a couple of clothing optional beaches if you're into the naturist lifestyle. Finally - Sitges Royal Rooms may NOT be for you if you're used to or prefer ultra modern characterless hotels. It's an old building with history, the fixtures and fittings sympathetically reflect this and the décor and furniture add to it's charm. We like this sort of thing therefore highly recommend.

Quite simply the best place in Sitges to spend an evening. Excellent food, excellent staff, we had an opera singer to accompany our meal and they have a very handsome dog on hand too! What’s not to like. Booking a table is so easy too, just visit during the day and they’ll sort it for you.

The staff extremely friendly and respectful. The room although preserved very well needs a little touch up. Reasonably clean. Food is very good.

Absolutely perfect eclectic and romantic hotel a stones throw from the centre. The rooms are beautiful. Simply a wonderful place to stay! The staff where friendly and accommodating and the hotel has a fabulous garden bar/restaurant. We'd never stay anywhere else given the choice when visiting Stiges.

If you like grand historical opulence then this if for you. The a**osphere is quirky and welcoming and the rooms whisk you back in time. The rooms are named after operas and we had Aida which has a very generous terrace, which was a huge bonus. The owners and staff are very welcoming and breakfast in the garden was simple and freshly prepared. The location in the heart of the old town is perfect.

Excellent service, staff, cute dog, and friendly owner. Beds and rooms are comfortable . Patio is gorgeous. Breakfast is small and simple - just 2 eggs and a slice of bacon, cross any toast, yogurt. don’t rely on it as a way to skip lunch.

Don’t stay here if you’re looking for a peaceful, quiet stay. That’s what I was looking for and was assured of by email but received the opposite. I checked out early after one night (I was supposed to stay 6 nights). The train is around the corner, which made for frequent loud noise and disturbance all day and night. They also play loud music in the garden that can be heard throughout the hotel from 6:30pm until after midnight. These details weren’t disclosed to me regardless of my request for a quiet stay. In that same email I was told housekeeping came everyday, but upon arrival I was informed it was every third day. Breakfast is supposed to be served at 8:30am, but it seemed to happen after that hour whenever the staff was able to get themselves organized. Why have a schedule if it’s not followed? There was also an aggressive dog that barked and growled at me in the garden. Not cool. I should feel safe and not scared. Last, the outdoor furniture, the garden area and the rooftop were dingy and shabby. I definitely wouldn’t want to lounge or hangout anywhere. The jacuzzi also had dark residue on the bottom. Sand maybe? Gross. This place reminds me more of a hostel than a hotel. It’s sad when a hotel perceives itself one way online then in person it’s totally different. Deception at its finest.

This is a very special boutique hotel, situated on a block of mansions that were built by adventurers who returned after making their fortunes in Cuba (at least that's what our host told us). The hotel has about 9 rooms, plus an apar**ent entered from the garden in the back. (The excellent breakfast is served in the garden, which also hosts a Lebanese-style restaurant during the evening). The hotel is filled with sumptuous and fanciful decor. We stayed in the apar**ent -- which includes a galley kitchen, a massive armoire in the bedroom, and a delightful sitting room in the front. The host and staff are lovely. Highly recommended.
