Du Parc

Family break with my wife, mother & father in law. The first impression was good, all public areas were well-appointed and spotlessly clean. The reception staff were well presented, helpful and eager to assist and please. Our room was comfortable and benefitted from a small fridge, valuables safe and TV. Well-proportioned and well-equipped bathroom. All sparklingly clean. Good beds, crisp bedding, and spare pillows. Quiet and efficient air conditioning. The pool area is well laid out and attended to daily, with towels available. Quirky rule regarding bathing caps but it's no real issue. All staff at all levels are keen to help and make the stay pleasant. All speak passable to good English. All are well presented. We stayed half board and found the dinner menu to be superb, with four courses with new offerings daily. Selection of great local wines and beers. Dining room is well laid out and pleasant. Great indoor and outdoor seating area for the bar. You would be advised to bring midge/mosquito repellent as they are there. Well stocked bar with a great and skilled barman. Nice guy. I will be visiting this hotel again and would recommend a visit. The only gripe I have and it's a minor one is there are no bedside power points Great place to stay. Close to the old town to get the vibe and visit the local bars and restaurants, far enough away to be quiet and very relaxing. Good bus service between town and hotel road end, taxi service is also available, fares are reasonable. It can be reached on foot if you wish. Thanks to all staff for a memorable holiday.

We had a really good time at Sirmione. The hotel is nice, clean. The room was big enough, with a nice bathroom and a lovely outside terrace. The breakfast was good. The pool was nice although the water a bit too cold. We liked the fact that we could rent bikes so that we had a lovely ride to Sirmione.

Enjoyed a pleasant week here .A nice quiet hotel mostly adults and some bus tours stay here. The bedroom was large, bed reasonable, I would prefer softer. Very clean and large bathroom. Good storage. I asked for a quiet room on a high floor which I got. Only downside there was no view, apart from trees and the kitchen extraction made a noise. Couldn't hear it when the door was closed, and we were too busy to sit on the balcony. Most rooms seem pleasant though, and all the staff are lovely, Great car park if you have a car. Pool was lovely , but chilly, no bathing caps required as i'd read before. Very close to Columbare, a side path from the hotel is quicker, a nice little area with shops, cafes and restaurants, nice beach area with cafes and restaurants. Bus to Verona or Desenzano and other places, also a stop for the shuttle bus to Sirmione town. There is one near the hotel as well. The buses can sometimes be a bit late. Sirmione is a good 40 minute walk, not too pleasant with a lot of traffic .It is a lovely little place though , especially when all the day trippers go, also great for catching the ferries. I didn't particularly like choosing my meals ahead , I also felt a bit close to other people in the dining room. I prefer self service meals, but he food was good, a bit lacking in vegetables for my tastes. All in all a nice hotel, great entertainment on the Saturday night, but a bit quiet on the other nights, a lot of people went to their rooms early. Think it may be nice if the lights were dimmed in the foyer , where the bar is to give it a bit more ambience after dinner. Lots to do in the Lake Garda area.

On our first visit to Lake Garda and after reading former reviews about the Hotel Du Parc we decided to book and we were not disappointed, on arrival the reception staff informed us our room wasn't ready but pointed in the direction of the pool area to sit and have a drink, the first drink was complimentary. Check in was straight forward and the staff were lovely and friendly they advised us to leave our cases and when the room was ready about 30 minutes later our cases had already been put in the room. The room was large and on the ground floor, there were two rooms, one contained a double bed whilst the other had a Sofer bed, If you wanted it the televisions x 2 both had SKY but you don't go on holiday to watch TV, tea and coffee in the room and 4 free drinks in the fridge, every day the cleaners tried to clean our room so no issues there. I will say the rooms were very quiet with a comfortable bed so no issues sleeping, the hotel to the front is situated within a small housing estate but there was never any noise so no concerns there. We stayed Half board and the breakfast was fine, both hot and cold food available with plenty of options regarding drinks, breakfast is self service, the evening meal is 4 courses and there is plenty of choice, the only issue I had was ordering my evening meal at breakfast, i understand why this is done to assist the chefs but for me I am not in the mood to make my evening meal choice, on occasions we didn't order and left it until later in the day. I am a fussy eater but have to say I enjoyed 90% of the meals and the service from the staff was brilliant. The selection of drinks from the bar is also very good with all branded spirits etc, Michele was brilliant with service and always smiling, you can order at the bar, and if it's not too busy the staff offer table service and also around the pool. What I enjoyed most about the Du Park was how quiet it was and relaxing, in fact the whole of Sirimione is like this, not a bar in sight or rowdy people, please note I would not class the Du Park as a hotel to take children as there is no entertainment at all so look elsewhere as they would be very bored. The old town is lovely, with lots of restaurants, castles, and nice walks During our stay we booked a trip to Limone and Venice, we booked via Tui and both trips were very good, naturally not the cheapest but in doing so they took all the hassle away. Note the Venice trip is around a 14hr day, the Tui guide, Fredrico was brilliant, his knowledge of the area and the history lessons given during the tour made it worthwhile - Ps if you do the Venice trip and want to go on the gondola as a pair do not book this via the Tui trip as you end up with 4 in one gondola so not very nice. To sum up, Hotel Du Park, thanks for a great week, great hotel with great staff

This 4 star hotel fully lived up to its rating. I would find it difficult to fault any aspect of it, from cleaner to barman and reception to waiter all were excellent. The hotel itself is spotless, very welcoming and situated in a quiet area of town overlooking Lake Garda which is about 200 meters away. The food offered was very varied and something to suit everyone. The service and quality of the food was excellent. The hotel is best suited for older guests but to enjoy it to its full people should be aware its about a 7 minute walk into the town centre and a 40 minute walk to the old town. Would I go back to this hotel? definitely, but to the town, not for me, far too busy and overcrowded.

Suite was a good size with modern large bathroom. We had breakfast only which was totally buffet style leading to the inevitable queuing but food was good with many choices. Dinner menu looked adequate but bright lighting in the restaurant was not inviting. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant/breakfast area could be improved with redecorating and alternative lighting for evening. Good shuttle bus to Sirmione. Restaurants within walking distance. Ferry is comfortably accessible .

We have just returned from a weeks half board at this hotel which is in a quiet position about 25 mins walk to the centre to the old town. (where you can get ferries and boat tours) There are restaurants and shops about 10 min walk in the opposite direction of town. On check in we was pleased that the hotel had given us a high room as requested, Room 232. The rooms are spotlessly clean, spacious, with plenty of wardrobe space (I especially liked the fact they were full length to hang my dresses), good drawer space, comfortable bed and decent size balcony with a lovely view. Dressing gowns and slippers are provided along with beautifully fluffy towels, shampoo, shower gels etc as you would expect from a 4 star hotel. You are given 4 soft drinks in the mini bar on arrival which are free. The furniture could do with an upgrade as looking worn and dated. Hotel is clean throughout with plenty of seating areas, good size pool with plenty of sunbeds, never had any problem finding them whatever time of the day. A towel is given at beginning of holiday if you want an exchange cost is 3 euros. The staff from the reception are always very helpful, especially Frederico who gave us daily advice. Special mention to Antionio, Gabriella, and Liezl who were always very cheerful and friendly, in fact every one of the staff are wonderful! We enjoyed the food and thought the standard was very good, plenty of options for breakfast and good choices for dinner. At your first meal you are given a table which you use throughout your holiday. We have never stayed at a hotel where you have to make your selections for dinner at breakfast time, but seemed to work ok. My reasons for not giving a 5 star review which are minor are as follows: There is no where to refill your water bottles, in fact in restaurant there is a sign advising you cannot refill your bottles. You have paper cups in the bedrooms for hot/cold drinks, would much prefer china cups/glasses. Pictures around the hotel are very dated, by replacing would update the hotel immediately. I would like to conclude my review by saying my husband and I had a fantastic holiday and a comfortable stay at Hotel Du Parc.

We stayed here in May this year and had a wonderful time! The room we had was spacious and clean. It was slightly on the basic side but for how long we were in our room each day that didn’t matter to us. The absolute highlight of this hotel was the staff though, Carolina was absolutely wonderful with our son (who was fixated with her!) offering him some toys they had and playing games with him, he absolutely adored her! The other special mention has to be the wonderful guy that works behind the bar - I didn’t catch his name, but again, he made us so welcome and made our little one laugh a lot. It’s predominantly adults that seem to stay here, so having staff like this made us feel so welcome and eased some of my stresses as a parent about him being too ‘noisy’ or anything. We will definitely return!

We stayed in the above hotel. We have no hesitation in saying that we thoroughly enjoyed our week’s stay. We would highly recommend it to other people. The restaurant (breakfast and dinner ) were excellent. Please pass on our thanks to the Maitre d and his staff. The cleaning staff were excellent, again pass on our thanks. The reception staff were also very helpful- in check in, if we needed advice on shuttle buses etc. Thanks also to them. Hopefully we will be back in Sirmione in the not too distant future and would stay with yourselves.
