Hotel la Paul

Loved this hotel and the private beach that included lawn chairs and led to a dock. Pool was very nice and hotel staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Couldn’t recommend this hotel more! And the hotel provides free bikes!!

We must have been the last people to check in because we got an en suite ceiling room with no lighting. However it was a weekend stay and we didn’t stay in the hotel so , provided you get a room not in the attic you should be ok. The rest of the hotel was clean and the pool was cold, perfect. The roof terrace and the grass area facing the lake offer spectacular sun setting views and the hotel is in a perfect location for eating and seeing the sites of Sirmione. We hired a car and parking onsite was free. People on the desk ready to help for anything. No mini bar or facilities like this. Was basic in the roof, wonder if the rooms were the same. But overall I’d stay again, just ask for another room.

Great things about this hotel are the cleanliness; towels changed daily, food; spoilt for choice at breakfast and excellent evening meals in the restaurant which offered spectacular sunset views. The lakeside garden is an oasis of tranquility for both guests and wildlife with plenty of seating. Perfectly situated for a short walk to beautiful medieval town, excellent tourist information and easy access to public transport links to Venice, Verona, Milan as well as frequent ferries to interesting towns around the lake. The free bikes were great for getting off the beaten track into the vineyards.

Rather restricted view of lake from balcony (115). No shelving in wardrobe with only a few clothes hangers, the hooks were there but no associated hangers. Bathroom small , however plentiful hot water but with no ventilation, soon becomes a steam room. Very small room with no furniture so sit on the bed! Tea and coffee making station with no milk substitute - black tea!. Balcony only becomes sunny after midday and the wicker chairs are worn and uncomfortable. The associated balcony light is connected via a motion sensor that times out after about 15 seconds and unless you’re next to it won’t activate. Room is clean although showing signs of age. Restaurant food is very good with a balanced menu, however, the bar area is non existent save a narrow high table and some stools. Friendly happy staff although a request to retain the room because of a late return flight almost became a detailed negotiation which was hard to understand given the hotel occupancy. On balance a budget tourist hotel perfectly situated on the peninsular ideal for short stays only.

This was a lovely little hotel, great location, very clean and comfortable. The staff were nice, even though there was a young girl on reception that was totally run off her feet and needed help. We had a great stay.

Just returned from a fabulous holiday at Hotel La Paul,Sirmione. Room was lovely was clean,gorgeous side view of lake from balcony.We had bed and breakfast food always fresh and plenty of it,coffee was good.Felt very safe in swimming pool,this is first holiday that I ventured into the water,so clean,loved it.Also went for a cycle ride with the free bike hire to Colombare.Outside by the stunning lake we could relax,it was glorious.The two ladies who worked in the hut were so lovely and friendly also the food that was served was first class.We found all the staff to be welcoming.The reception staff were always friendly,helpful and efficient.We must mention a very special young lady on reception Alessandra , it was like having your very own best friend working at the hotel,she was a complete star and an absolute Angel.We would definitely return to this comfortable and homely hotel.Thank you Hotel La Paul.xxx

Please do not use this hotel! We arrived at 10:30pm after a long taxi ride, there was only concierge service. We asked if we could have a drink of water, and got refused, although the bar should of been open. The town was closed by this time so no way of getting any refreshments. We were asked for a 100 Euro damage deposit, but honestly if I trashed the room I couldn't do 100 Euro's of damage, there wasn't even a kettle (remember no refreshments on arrival!). The restaurant staff were rude, bordering aggressive. On the first morning I asked for a knife, and a hand waved in my face at the same time being shouted at, "on the tables". There wasn't a knife to be seen! Every morning the coffee was cold. We noticed people being served fresh coffee and on the 4th morning requested fresh coffees, the table next to us got served coffee time and time again whilst we were ignored every time. This led to argument in reception between myself, the manageress and the serving staff. I was made out to be a lair, apparently if my partner requests coffee and then later I explain this and ask where is the coffee, this is not me asking for coffee! The room was very small and basic, but clean, some noise. If I got free stay offered I would refuse it, the service is so minimal, rude and aggressive. The rooms are so small and basic, it has to have a negative effect on your holiday.

Huge disappointment! ! Reserved junior suite with balcony and king and queen bed . Got a cave or cellar room where now daylight ever with two tiny narrow bed. ( max 70/80 cm wide) . I do not understand junior suite one dark room with sofa and one chair . Then broken shower with tiny space in freezing room. This is like nightmare. Best thing in the room was tiny fridge . Everything has to be paid before seeing the room . After tolld our disappointment we were offered similar kind of room from cheaper hotel . Breakfast was also worst from my Italy trips : pineapples and peaches from can, cappuchino could order thanks for this . Location and views from garden to lake were good .Sunbeds were extremely dirty . Happy to check out , We paid 360e per two nights for two person

Ill start with the good points fidst: he location was amazing. The lake side and was easy to get to the old town. The cleanliness in our rooms was brilliant . Smelt fresh and was cleaned every day. But the pool area was depressing, and unclean. They did not clean it after thr storm. The were not enough sunbeds. And there was only about 3 others round the pool. Except for the receptionist lady who was very friendly, all of the staff were the rudest I've ever come across in a hotel. Everything was too much trouble for them . You want an omelette go and get your plate and wait for the guy to rudely slap a load of uncooked toppings in am omelette. If you want a drink don't expect any cups or glasses. If you ask a staff member they will give you a dirty look as if you've asked them something terrible. If you want a drink a the bar, forget it, the staff will totally ignore you and carry on with stomping around and arguing with each other. I tried hard not to let this ruin our holiday bit honestly it was a massive disappointment
