Taschler Haus

If you ever come to Sighisoara and decide to stay at Taschler Haus, make sure you have one extra day to simply enjoy this accommodation. It doesn't often happen that you regret leaving your accommodation to visit the city. We woke up in the morning in the quiet of the house with the sun in the window, had our tasty morning snack at beautifully set tables under old vaults, spent an evening in the courtyard surrounded by flowers and trees under the silhouette of the Clock Tower, and we greatly enjoyed our unique and impeccable apartment. This was one of the best accommodations I've ever had. If you come to Sighisoara, not staying at Taschler Haus seems to be denying yourself an incomparable experience that I doubt you could replicate elsewhere. It was very difficult for me to break away from Taschler Haus, and I stayed until the very last moment to enjoy this fantastic experience. The location is excellent, close to everything we wanted to visit, and the generous, responsive and communicative host solves all your problems before you even know you have them - from parking to where to dine. The American tourists I arrived with, who have some serious experience as international travelers, were amazed and continue to talk about Taschler Haus today. It would be a pity to pass up on this experience that makes you feel Sighisoara rather than just see it.

An opportunity to blend medieval history and modern comfort into a wonderful hotel experience. Modern amenities include high speed internet, power outlets, lighting, and bathroom facilities. Charm and comfort include the gracious hosts who welcome you with bottled water, cherry liqueur, easy access parking, beautiful flowers, amazing painted murals and outstanding hospitality. A total pleasure!!!

My family and I stayed at the Taschler Haus Boutique Hotel for one night in September 2023 while we were visiting Sighisoara from the United States. We had three rooms, and they were incredibly clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished. Taschler Haus is a historic building and each of its 10 rooms is rich with history and modern amenities, including complimentary Wi-Fi. Jan is a fantastic host, and he made us feel right at home. He is knowledgeable about the surrounding area and the must-see places around Sighisoara. The boutique hotel is situated at the edge of the Sighisoara Citadel and is within walking distance of the city center, restaurants, the citadel towers, and many other attractions. Taschler Haus also served a delicious, complimentary breakfast with croissants, fruit, yogurt, coffee and tea. We had a wonderful stay at Taschler Haus, and it’s the only place we would consider staying the next time we visit Sighisoara. Without a doubt 5 out of 5 stars!

The hotel location was fabulous: it’s situated just outside the clock tower gate of the citadel with many restaurant options in the surrounding streets. We went off-season. Parking was on the surrounding streets; we found a spot several blocks away. The venue is a refurbished house and family-run. They guided us through a remote arrival as we had prepaid on the website.

Great hosts. The accommodation is well placed near to the wellknown Tower Clock of Sighisoara, city center. Cosy rooms. Big bed. Big room. Traditional drawings and lots of elements which make the space a fairytale. Strongly recommend this place!

It is at 15min walking from the train station and about 2 min walking to the Citadel entrance. The owners are very kind, they toured us at the facilities and took us to our room, gave the hotel specifications and a map for the citadel main attractions. The hotel boutique is a big house, very nice, with a lot of ornaments everywhere at it is very cozy. There is an option for breakfast; we didn’t use it as we had to leave early, but anyway the owners offered us some coffee and fruit to go. I recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to have a nice sleeping and be close of the city attractions.

A beautifully restored 1676 building with very comfortable rooms in a perfect location just outside the old city walls. Many small touches add a great deal to comfort. The folk history of the area is highlighted through paintings and antiques displayed throughout. Free parking nearby available. Breakfast of coffee, pastries, cereal, yogurt and fruit from 9 am.

The property is well located near the important attractions in Sighisoara. It is exotic and rather unique. I felt we went back in time to few hundreds years back. Yet the rooms are very clean and modern. The amenities are for a 5 star hotel. But most importantly is the hospitality and kindness we experienced. This is one of the best experiences I had in a hotel, mind you I am a frequent traveler and have visited almost all countries in Europe and Asia. Plus I travelled extensively in both North and South America

Very comfortable room and real king bed in a great location. We expected to have parking but we had to find a spot nearby. We were fortunate. Lovely hosts and thoughtful continental breakfast.
