La Marine

We found this place on a wet Easter Monday when everywhere else in Brittany seemed to be closed. We didn't arrive until 2pm and didn't think anyone would be offering food, let alone a three course lunch at that time of day. We were pleasantly surprised to find La Marine did exactly that. The food was superb, we both had crevettes to start and lamb steaks served with salad and potatoes for main. Both were excellent but the quality of the lamb was quite something. The location is lovely. Would be very tempted to stay over next time so we could enjoy the wine list.

We stayed a night here with some friends before catching the ferry back from Roscoff. We booked some weeks before we went. We had read other reviews suggesting the stairs are quite steep to upper floor rooms, and as I have arthritis and mobility issues, we asked for a ground floor room if possible. The hotel replied immediately saying there was no problem and had reserved us a ground floor room. On arrival, we were shown to our room, and it was very comfortable. There was only one problem, for me, the bed was too low and I was unable to get up from it unaided, meaning my husband would need to be woken up when I needed to get up in the night. As we were there only one night, we didn’t want to make a fuss, but I asked, on the off chance, if they had something like the ‘elephant feet’ chair leg raisers I use at home, that could just raise the bed just enough, but I did say if not, it wouldn’t matter too much as it was only one night and we would manage. Well, the staff were amazingly helpful and when I returned from a look around the harbour, I found the staff had come up with a very inventive temporary fix and the bed was now at a height I could get up from! Wow, thank you to them for going above and beyond! I wondered whether, for the long term, you might get a second set of (longer) legs so you can offer a higher bed for others that might need it too, just a thought 😃. The bed was very comfy. To add this, the very roomy shower was pretty powerful and easy to control. I would have given 4.5 stars if I could because the only issues we had were ‘administration type’ ones. The room charge was incorrectly applied, but I was able to show the booking reference with the correct amount on it, and that we had tried to book a table for dinner, by email, before we went over to France, and we had emailed twice and not received a reply, so we were unsure if we had a booking for dinner. As it happened, we were asked on arrival if we would be eating that evening, and luckily we were able to do so. The food was lovely. I had a beautiful piece of rare beef fillet, and the French fries were delicious. my husband was very happy working his way through a large portion of mussels too. Our friends enjoyed their meals too. We were very sorry that we had to leave too early to try the breakfast mentioned in other reviews! Next time I hope! Thank you to the helpful and friendly staff.

La location è impagabile come la gentilezza del personale ma i dati positivi si esauriscono qui in quanto la camera ed il ristorante erano molto sporchi (polvere, ragnatele e poca cura dell’igiene generale), la camera non è stata riordinata per cui alla sera al nostro rientro abbiamo trovato il letto disfatto come lo avevamo lasciato ed il bagno con gli asciugamani sporchi ed ancora bagnati e non pulito e sistemato. Buono il cibo ma scarsa varietà nel menu. Scarsa preparazione che non va oltre la buona volontà del personale (cameriera con capelli lunghi che svolazzano nei piatti). Il letto nella stanza ha un cuscino da divano senza federa, la carta igienica era già utilizzata e l’illuminazione del bagno era scarsa con due lampadine rotte. Siamo scappati via dopo due notti. Peccato perché la location è davvero favolosa.

Repas en famille: La nourriture est assez bonne mais il a fallu attendre 1h40 pour se voir servir des plats simples. Pour 12 personnes en salle, le service a été inexistant.... malgré la présence à notre table de 2 jeunes enfants, RIEN n'a été servi avant 21h40. 2 adultes ont dormi la nuit à l'hôtel, mais malgré les remarques sur l'expérience au restaurant, le patron s'est montré désagréable. Nous n'y retournerons pas et déconseillons.

À fuir !!!!! Un gérant qui devrait ralentir bêtement sur sa consommation d'alcool et autres.... Un acceuil pitoyable, en gros démerdé vous car pas que ça à foutre. Le restaurant bah c'est simple ( Cauchemar en cuisine) attendre 2h30 avant d'avoir une entrée, je précise que nous étions même pas 20 couverts dans la salle. Un jeune serveur inexpérimenté qui brasse de l'air et le patron en cuisine qui se fait des pauses clopes et whisky coca entre deux tagliatelles. Un vrai sketch !!!! Sérieusement mieux vaut planter une tente dans un camping que passer une nuit dans cette établissement qui ne mérite pas d'être exploiter par se type de personnage. C'est une honte !!!

L Emplacement et l environnement magnifiques La personnel gentil , une très jolie vue sur le port et les plages au fond depuis la chambre , le couchage confortable et la cuisine avec du fait maison tout du long , c est rare . Que demander de plus ?? La Bretagne comme on l aime, authentique !
